Is life on the road getting to Britney Spears?

A family insider says Britney was caught by her conservator/dad Jamie Spears popping over-the-counter diet pills and washing them down with Red Bull before a performance on her Circus tour, reports gossip site Betty Confidential.

“Britney was definitely trying to get high by taking too many diet pills and energy drinks,” the source told the site. “Jamie thinks the combination of the two is making her whacked-out and, causing her to lash out in weird angry rampages.”

Another who really cares celebrity ... she was whacked out long before being introduced to Red Bull and diet pills.

Plus, have we all really become such prigs that OTC diet pills and Red Bull constitute dramatically dangerous substances? If this is the worst Spears is doing, she’s in better shape mentally than I would have thought.

Considering what she was taking prior...Red Bull and ? (Diet Pills) seem pretty tame. That coupled with her perpetual Iced Mocha Double Lattes from Starbucks...she must be on a caffienne buzz...infinitely safer than than whatever landed her in the Psyche Ward @ UCLA...

Ole Brit is dealing with mental illness so diet pills and Red Bull might cause her problems. The article said she is acting out again and last time she ended up committed.

Spears is certainly very troubled, I just think that OTC diet pills and Red Bull are insignificant. She's almost certainly taking pills that are much more dangerous than Dexatrim or whatever. It reminds me of when the tabloids ask if Patrick Swayze should be smoking. Since Swayze has pancreatic cancer, I'd say that it matters not at all if he smokes cigarettes.
