Here is video of Fox News Reporter Major Garrett talking about the White House responding to his questions concerning unsolicited emails citizens have been receiving from the White House. Garrett asked Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about it on Thursday, who would not answer Garrett's questions and treated Garrett rudely.
Garrett reports that the White House released a statement saying that the White House does not send emails to people who have not requested that they receive messages. But they did blame "third party" organizations for sending emails to the White House which may have been added to the White House lists. They said they are taking steps to keep this from happening in the future.
Clearly, this response shows that the White House knows this is a problem. They are trying to take steps now to make it all go away, but I'm not sure this will do the job. They are not really taking responsibility, but are trying to blame others. It will interesting to see how this plays out in the days ahead. . . . . (Watch Video)

Post #39 Should read YOUR COMPUTER with you as a government employee..My take COULD be wrong, but at least I KNOW BAMBI IS LYING!!
You may question as to how I was able to ascertain your e-mail address and name, it is been given me by a trusted family advisor HONORABLE Rahm Emanuel, ESQUIRE, Barrister and Counsel. I am HIS EXCELLENCY Barack Hussein OBAMA, Junior, son of the late esteemed bureaucrat and Marxist Philosopher Barack Hussein OBAMA, Senior of Kenya. As I was elected PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES of AmeriKKKa in 2008, and was unfairly deposed on a technicality relating to my birth certificate and other minor issues in 2009. Whilst I was in the Executive palace, I was able to squirrel away several BILLIONS of USD, with the assistance of HONORABLE Timothy Giethner and my proud Princess and First Lady. What I propose is for you to forward, post haste, your banking and exchequer information to Mr. Barrister EMANUEL, in which we may deposit the profits from my short-lived REIGN, in exchange for, we will forward to you 1/20th of the FORTUNE, to the tune of $100 MILLION USD. Time is of the essence, as the newly installed PALIN administration is hot on our heels and we are also making ourselves scarce from Mr. Soros and his henchmen.
No, you got the email from Axelrod because you emailed the white house. The other people were saying they had never contacted the white house website, email or any other affiliated Obama organization and were getting this spam email from Axelrod.
What I was saying was that Obama supporters were suggesting that people who dislike conservatives (i.e. dims and libtards) could easily sign up someone for email contact from the white house by simply submitting their enemy’s email address to the white house site.
ahhh, ok, that makes sense.
still, i don’t think my email should be put on a mailing list for whoever just because I wrote the WH to bitch about Obama.
I believe that's illegal under U.S. anti-spam laws. The White House should have told you that you would be receiving regular e-mail from them and that you would be on a list that could potentially be used by others (i.e. a third party, David Axelrod). They should also have provided a "check-box" for you to opt out of their mass-mailing program.
Would you mind posting a copy of the actual e-mail from Axelrod (with your identfying information deleted)?
I have seen many of these mass-emailing "templates" and might be able to recognize where it came from.
You're right! If you send an email to the White House complaining about the color of the drapes in the Oval Office, the only correspondence you should receive from them is regarding the drapes. Unless you requested to be placed on a mailing list, you should not be receiving anything from the White House.
Perhaps someone you know signed you up to receive updates from the White House?

Dear Friend,
Anyone that’s watched the news in the past few days knows that health insurance reform is a hot topic and that rumors and scare tactics have only increased as more people engage with the issue. Given a lot of the outrageous claims floating around, its time to make sure everyone knows the facts about the security and stability you get with health insurance reform.
Thats why weve launched a new online resource WhiteHouse.gov/RealityCheck to help you separate fact from fiction and share the truth about health insurance reform. Here’s a few of the reality check videos you can find on the site:
CEA Chair Christina Romer details how health insurance reform will impact small businesses.
Domestic Policy Council Director Melody Barnes tackles a nasty rumor about euthanasia and clearly describes how reform helps families.
Matt Flavin, the White House’s Director of Veterans and Wounded Warrior Policy, clears the air about Veteran’s benefits.
Kavita Patel, M.D., a doctor serving in the White House’s Office of Public Engagement, explains that health care rationing is happening right now and how reform gives control back to patients and doctors.
Bob Kocher, M.D., a doctor serving on the National Economic Council, debunks the myth that health insurance reform will be financed by cutting Medicare benefits.
There’s more information and a number of online tools you can use to spread the truth among your family, friends and other social networks. Take a look:
We knew going into this effort that accomplishing comprehensive health insurance reform wasn’t going to be easy. Achieving real change never is. The entrenched interests that benefit from the status quo always use their influence in Washington to try and keep things just as they are.
But don’t be misled. We know the status quo is unsustainable. If we do nothing, millions more Americans will be denied insurance because of pre-existing conditions, or see their coverage suddenly dropped if they become seriously ill. Out-of-pocket expenses will continue to soar, and more and more families and businesses will be forced to deal with health insurance costs they cant afford.
That’s the reality.
Americans deserve better. You deserve a health care system that works as well for you as it does for the status quo; one you can depend on that won’t deny you coverage when you need it most or charge you crippling out-of-pocket co-pays. Health insurance reform means guaranteeing the health care security and stability you deserve.
President Barack Obama promised he’d bring change to Washington and fix our broken, unsustainable health insurance system. You can help deliver that change. Visit WhiteHouse.gov/RealityCheck, get the facts and spread the truth. The stakes are just too high to do nothing.
Thank you,
David
David Axelrod
Senior Advisor to the President

So that’s the email and now I see I can unsubscribe - I didn’t read the dang thing before...
no...i’m positive no one signed me up.
It looks like the White House could use some help with their English grammar.
How was the letter formatted? Was there a colored background or anything, other than the White House logo, distinguishing it from normal e-mails?
Mass e-mailing companies often use various tactics to evade the Spam-filters. They can also track the e-mail to see if you opened it, clicked on one or more of the links, or forwarded it to someone else.
For anyone who received Spam from the White House, you can report it to the FTC:
This action by the White House is a felony according to some of the reports. Do we have any FReeper lawyers who would like to chime in on whether that is indeed the case? If it is a felony, will the WH ever be held responsible? How many laws are the republicans going to watch Obama break before they draw up articles of impeachment?
Seems to me that we have a real clone here!!!
From the heading, here is the name of the server that actually sent the messages :
service.govdelivery.com ([10.10.20.242])
The IP address is no longer traceable by iptrace.
Whois shows it has been returned back IANA.
I can also add that the healthcare message was the third unsolicited e0mail from the WH. The first was on Porkulus. The second on Sotomayor.
The address I received them at is my personal e-mail associated with my ISP. To get that address, they either had to buy it from someone that had it or gotten it from my ISP. I have never sent anything to any government agency using that ID and certainly made no contributions to O’s campaign.
I've studiously avoided google ever since I watched them 'disappear' half a million hits for image searches of "obama birth certificate" in mid July '08.
EXCELLENT!!!
Agree 110%!!!!
Not to worry. You're on the other list, too...
Me neither. He’s our voice.
