Texas field goal likely puts Boise State in BCS

Breathe easy, Boise State fans.

Texas hit a do-or-die field goal on the final play of the game Saturday night to beat Nebraska in the Big 12 championship game.

The kick likely put Texas in the national championship game and Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. If Nebraska had won, the Broncos might have gotten snubbed by the Bowl Championship Series.

Texas 13, Nebraska 12. Talk about close for BSU chances.

Fiesta bowl again would be my bet. Orange gets first pick, but they'll probably pass.

I'm thinking Penn State.

What a game. Nebraska was awesome on defense and Hsu was dominating. But it wasn't enough,e ven with Texas' almost catastrophic clock mismangement at the end.

And Alabama dominated, and that Cincy Pitt game was phenominal too.

Now I believe BSU is in.

I'd like to see:

Alabama vs Texas for Championship
Florida vs. TCU for no. 2.
Cincinnati vs BSU for no. 3

“Alabama will run all over Texas.”

We’ll see! That defensive tackle for Nebraska is the best college defensive lineman I have ever seen!

It was an exciting day of football with some interesting games, but without a playoff the sport is inferior to college basketball. I cannot get too excited about a sport that does not allow teams like TCU and Cincinnati a shot at a championship.

Watching the replay...the ball seemed to clearly go out of bounds as the clock ticked to one second...and I believe the call was a good one. But it should never have come to that and I cannot imagine why Texas even ran that play.

Texas didn’t look like a worthy opponent for Alabama.

Talk about a heartbreaking game, but at least we can say Nebraska exceeded all expectations for this game.

Do they give the Heisman to defensive players? If not they should start. The guy was unbelievable.

Yeah maybe.. But I thought the clock is stopped when the ball hit ground......even if it's OOB

Nope...as soon as it crosses the line it should stop, because at that moment it is incomplete.
