"Somebody asked what I was drinking, if the company that made the stuff I was drinking was paying me, I'd have in their bottle and not mine. But it's the kind of scotch that people drink that are going to die penniless."

'We believe Mortlach 70 Years Old is a malt without comparison.

In other words, there is nothing special about it except for the price.

Hmmm, buy a new car or get a bottle of scotch.

I’m still considering...

Given the difference between the 12 and 30 I’ve had, I can only imagine what 70 tastes like.

IIRC, some cases of whiskey were discovered in Antarctica from the Shackleton expedition. That stuff would be about 40 or 50 years older then.

I'd put a nipple on it and 'drank' it right from the bottle :-)

Seriously... I'll savor my Johnnie Walker Blue Label + one cube of ice in a Steuben lead crystal old fashioned with a side of very cold filtered water ;-)

This liquid gold is £10,000 per bottle or $15,192.21 USD.

Assuming this is a 750 ml bottle, that means ~ 25.36 ounces to the bottle.

That makes it about $600 an OUNCE! Amazing. Too rich for my blood.

There are a lot of words put out on the Internet regarding these fancy "aged" adult beverages. For me, I am satisfied with fresh cider, served cold (Woodchuck being my favorite branch) or draft beer, preferably pilsners such as Pilsner Urquell as well as my namesake brew.

Regarding distilled beverages, despite having the means to do so, I could never bring myself to drink the really top shelf stuff that goes for hundreds of dollars a bottle. My guilty pleasures are mostly limited to Patron tequila (about $65 a bottle) and the occasional ice wines ($30-40 a bottle) that I might serve as a dessert wine after a Thanksgiving dinner or something. As for wine, I normally stick to the $15 a bottle pricepoint.

Even if you are a connoisseur, is it really worth it to pay so much money for any kind of booze?
