While I don't agree with the rhetoric used in this video I agree with every argument made. Education should not be run by the gov. via our tax dollars. Private schools do it better and instill Christian and American values in children unlike the liberal left gov. schools. Not sure if I agree w/ getting rid of libraries but my taxes are killing me.
Discussion anyone?
Our libraries are now closed most of the time, and especially on weekends and the evenings, which is the logical time people would use them.
At this point they only exist for paying public union workers’ salaries. They haven’t added new books for years.
I would shut them down.
Close down the Department of Education!
Good point.
Homeschooling is much better for children then public schools which by now teach nothing but liberal propaganda.
I agree with you. I know someone who homeschools her children.
The bloated, wasteful, government-run education system is a blood-sucking leech on the American tax-payer. It is run by a group of bureaucrats, whom I call the "Edu-stapo." The members of the Edu-stapo make six-figure salaries and take frequent vacations to Europe and Cancun at the expense of honest, hard-working people. The education bureaucracy and their allies in the government spend all kinds of tax-payer money on ridiculous education programs.
And where has this gotten us? The education system in the United States is complete horses***.
This can all be solved through market incentives. Schools and colleges should be run like any capitalist firm without state interference.
Socialism has failed in every other regard in American society.
“The Federal government has no constitutional authority to be involved in school curricula or to control jobs in the market place. This is why we will abolish the Department of Education, end federal meddling in our schools, and promote family choice at all levels of learning”
GOP Platform
God bless!
It’s funny....we functioned well without a national education agenda until the 1970s. We were fifty different state agendas...and pretty much based on what the local district wanted to do or not do. If they didn’t have money...they said so and you had find money via bond programs or just toss out costly requirements. Seems like we did ok for 170-odd years.
That’s why I support Ron Paul. He wants to bring America back to that by abolishing the DEA.
Actually this whole mess started with LBJ “Great Society” programs. In 1965, he signed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and the Higher Education Act of 1965. The US Department of Education building is named after him.
I like my libaries !
Words. Nothing more, nothing less.
The use of forced taxation to force lousy, minimal trade level, anti-political/thinking training on low/working class majority came from around Dewey and the Progressives.
Forced taxation, forced debt, forced government ‘education’, centrally planned out of Washington.( Thanks (partially) President Bush! )
What could be better?
Why do you think wealthy send their children to private schools? It is because they want their children to learn and know how to think. For the rest of the schlubs, just applied training. Thinking will be for their betters.
My sister makes $130/hr from multiple libraries all across nassau county in Long Island, NY. She went in looking to make $30/hr, they told her the going rate was $100/hr and over the last 3-4 years gave her raises.
She teaches arts & crafts once or twice a week.
Oh the library also teaches yoga!!! Got to compete with the gym after all.. The gym probably pays their teacher $30 /hr..
American schools brainwash children to accept socialism. Look at the numbers of public schooled kids who voted for N0bama vs homeschooled kids who voted for him. The message is clear.
Kids if your parents can't afford private school or don't have the resources or don't want to homeschool then DONT GO. Liberal state education is poison. You can educate yourself by reading the Bible, using the internet and watching the news. Most of what you learn in gov. school won't even help you in real life.
I want to know how many teachers in gov. schools are socialists or have socialist leanings. I would guess 90% do and the 10% who don't won't dare say they don't.
