Ethics Panel Investigation: Should Pelosi be investigated along with the others?
Various | 11/5/2010 | Vanity

Posted on 11/05/2010 11:32:04 AM PDT by topher

I am just trying to line up some work for the 112th House to do.

One thread on this (about abuse by Pelosi of the Air Force) is:

New Documents Shed Light on Pelosi’s Abuse of Air Force Aircraft

The above is FreeRepublic.com thread.

Below are Internet Threads/Articles not from Freerepublic.com:

Air Pelosi update: Speaker’s taxpayer-funded friends & family shuttle Updated

Pelosi's children and grandchildren used military jets ... to avoid dealing with the rabble

Judicial Watch: "Air Pelosi" Scandal

Louisiana: The Hayride: Criminal Misuse Of Military Jets By Speaker Of House?

Neal Boortz: NANCY'S PERSONAL AIRLINE ... THE U.S. MILITARY

Yes, Charlie Rangel, and others need to be investigated for ethics violations. But what of the soon-to-be FORMER Speaker of the House and abuse of Military Aircraft?

Why not let Military personnel have time to air their complaints against Nancy Pelosi?

Doing this should prevent this in the future...

TOPICS: Military/Veterans; Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: abuse; airforce; airpelosi; complaints; ethics; military; pelosi
Pardon the vanity.

Should this be a matter taken up by the 112th House?

Would such an investigation prevent abuse in the future?

YES.Pelosi should be investigated for the crimes she has committed while in office. If the Republicans did the crap she did they would have been tarred and feathered by now.

To those who value liberty:

Do not waste the time and political capital won on November 2 by focusing on "investigating" any of these tyrants. To do so will suck up attention which needs to be directed elsewhere.

Instead, spend every resource and moment articulating the Founders' ideas of liberty to a nation of "constitutional illiterates" who could have elected and ceded power to the likes of Obama, Pelosi and Reid in the first place.

Once progress is made in cutting spending and taxes, repealing the monstrosity mislabeled "health care reform" (meaning "giant power grab"), articulating the Founders' ideas in preparation for the 2012 election, and restoring jobs for every citizens who wants them, then and only then should you give the upper hand to the mainstream media by providing the circus of an investigation.

Just get rid of them by doing the right thing!

let’s get our priorities straight:
budget
keeping the bush tax cuts
securing the border
the war
etc...

we run the risk of turning ourselves into a banana republic if we spend all our resources eating each other rather than dealing with real issues.

that said, we should look into her, and all corrupt politicians when we get started on solving problems.

Good idea, but the # 1 priority for the new congress should be voter fraud.

I infer from your rhetorical question that you are prepared to overlook her abuse. Wrongdoing needs to be punished where ever it occurs. Her abuse of the Air Force was particularly egregious and practiced with impunity. Of course we should investigate her. sd

If they won’t look at Obama what makes you think they’ll look at each other?

I am not sure what punishment may be issued unless she is forced to step down.

The late Freeper Congressman Billy Bob (I would have to look up his Freeper handle) stated that members of Congress cannot be prosecuted by the law while serving in Congress.

That was why Congressman William Jefferson (D-Louisiana) was immune as long as he was a member of Congress. Once he was forced to step down, he was prosecuted.

It would be nice for Congressman Billy Bob to post to this thread...

No. The point is look up other Internet Articles and Freerepublic threads to document the abuse.

Then the question is should we or shouldn't we use time/energy on this?

Some have voiced there are other priorities for the 112th Congress much more important this: addressing voter fraud, reducing taxes, etc.

I don't agree or disagree. I have provided this thread as a discussion tool.

I heard that at one time when Senator Ted Kennedy was obstinate to working with Republicans, the Republicans would propose making Chappaquidic a National Monument. Part of it was joke, but also part of it was factual. It helped to persuade the late Senator from Massachusetts.

No. This might just the tip of the iceberg. If you force her to resign, then she can be criminally prosecuted. As a member of Congress, one is immune from prosecution. At least that is my understanding from our late friend on Freerepublic Congressman Billy Bob.

I get that. I was thinking along the lines of the ethics panel. You know, the crack panel investigating Rangel and Waters. sd

I appreciate how this could be a very effective tool on an “as is” basis. I see the point.
Thanks.
