With the rumored 2G iPad with its improved display and better multimedia capabilities coming possibly in April 2011, this trend could REALLY accelerate. I'm definitely in the market for the 2G iPad, especially with the much large display it becomes a lot more useful as a media consumption device than the iPod touch I have now.
This will anger the TV gods.
What are these rumored impovements in the ipod 2 - better multimedia capabilities? Are they going to put Flash 10.1 on it. The Android 2.2 has Flash 10.1, and it works well. Are there other formats the ipod can’t currently play? Presumably the new ipod will have hdmi out so the ipod can be connected with the big tv. Many androids costing around $250 have the hdmi out currently with the ability to play all sorts of movie formats over to the tv.
Some day we will be able to sit back and turn on PJTV or Free Republic TV or whatever else straight from the web.
I sit on my sofa every night with my iPad on my lap and the tv on, am doing so now. I watch very little tv anymore even though it is on.
I just got a Kindle as a Christmas gift and yes, it will eat into what little prime time I watch, especially since I can watch most of “my” shows within the week online.
If I read a review for a book and it sounds good, or want blogs delivered to my pc, all I have to do is go to amazon and request/purchase it. It takes less than 30 seconds for a book to be delivered to my Kindle. On a night like tonight, I might have caught part of 20/20, but I just bought the book club book and will start tonight instead of stopping by the bookstore on the way home from church on Sunday.
My dad would never touch a computer. Got him an iPad for christmas and he is having a ball with it.
ping.
You can read books on the iPad but it sucks after a while as eye strain kicks in. The Kindle is much better for reading books.
The iPad is good for multiple uses and I am seriously thinking of getting one and I am definitely not an Apple fanboy.
