Steelers teams of past, present linked by pedigree

Mahogany shelves are filled with neatly lined books. Pictures that cover an adjacent wall also tell the history of the Steelers.

But what makes the second-floor room at Steelers headquarters one of the most unique libraries on the planet: Six Lombardi Trophies are displayed in a row, and they have the same effect as a six-car pile-up on the Parkway.

Looters of the public purse. Should be re-named Stealers.

>>One of the greatest sports fanchises of all time.<<

Next Sunday the 2 most storied sports franchises in the NFL are meeting.

I have loved both teams since I was a kid, but since I lived on Pittsburgh for about a year, I am slightly rooting more for the Steelers.

I am from L.A. so I can root for anyone I want. When I move to Dallas later this I assume they will staple (or nail) a Cowboys sticker to my forehead...

Truly a premier franchise, but as with the Yankees, being a fan of the franchise is the path of least resistance and therefore generally unimpressive.

There’s also the matter of their franchise QB being a serial sexual predator.

The same media that loves Obama is doing backflips to rehabilitate this guy.

Go Pack go!

I see him in church and he seems to be a changed man. Expect to see him and his crew shortly.

I think the owner (Rooney ?) was an old man when the Steelers finally won the Big One. They’ve more than made up for lost time since then.

Vs Green Bay a city of 120,000. A publicly owned frachise with 121,000 shareholders including me. Should be a fun game.

Don’t care how many trophies they collect. The Rooney rule is absurd and their overt support for Obama is unforgivable.

Funny thing is, they were one of the worst franchises in the NFL for nearly the first 40 years of their existence. They were the team who kept Ted Marchibroda and cut Johnny Unitas. They didn’t have a single playoff appearance from 1933-1972.

I believe one of the Rooney brothers is a Republican. As for the Rooney rule, the NFL is a private business so they can set their own standards. It’s not like it’s a federal law or anything and the rule has worked out pretty well for the Steelers with Tomlin.

I like the Steelers, but I wont buy any team logo stuff or go to games because I dont like the way the one Rooney sucked up to Obama.
It is going to be a great game regardless.

Tomlin wasn't hired due to the rule....Rooney said so himself. While it may not be imposed federally, they could have their anti-trust exemption pulled. It's been threatened for less. While it's fully within their rights to agree on internal rules for their organization, it doesn't make it any less ridiculous.

There's a specific person you want for the job. However, due to the fact he's white, you have to go through the dishonest motions of interviewing people you have no intention of hiring. It's the definition of absurd.

I know there are excuses for three of Roethlisberger’s incidents with a fourth often ignored. Of course, there is the obvious fact that people who are innocent of sexual assualt will have to make exactly zero excuses in their lifetime. Steeler fans that make excuses for them (and James Harrison, who did the good Christian thing and smacked around his girlfriend) are simply delusional.

Roethlisberger supplied alcohol to an underage girl and had sex with her in a club bathroom. Few public investigations have been as botched as this one, so don’t even begin to point to the lack of charges as evidence of innocence.
