Has anyone ever though about this? A FReeper sell or trade area? I'd trust people here more than I would the paper or online auction sites.

Yes. I would like to see it.

It would get spammed or used against FR.
Oh look, a KKK robe for sale. See I told you they were a bunch of racists.

That and or a conservative business services section.

I’d dearly love to see that, but JimRob has made it abundantly clear that he intends to keep FR non-commercial.

I like the idea, but it would take a lot of work to get up and running. It would have to compete with all the other ad venues, such as craigslist, that are out there.

Uhoh, I see that you have made a suggestion to try to make FR better...get ready to be flamed. Alknowing admins have already created a perfect utopia here....

That and or a conservative business services section. That's where my interest lies. My business is a Mom & Pop shop that would benefit greatly, if I could post notices on FR.

Perhaps as a side benefit available by subscription. I doubt many trolls would pony up even a dollar to do as you suggest if it would support efforts at FR. Also—maybe with a membership application/approval process?

Wouldn’t this violate FR’s non profit (?) tax status.....???

Would be interested in this as a paid membership section as there would be as noted above many pitfalls and potential unwanted spamming.

Alknowing admins have already created a perfect utopia here....If you have to ask what a ZOT costs, you can't afford it. ;)

I wish I knew how to set one up. Now that ebay is going to take a bite out of shipping as part of the final value fee, people will be looking for another auction port. Whoever is running ebay now must have Pelosi and Reid for advisers.

I am sure you would do a great job and in general it would be a great place to buy/sell within a community of trusted people. I have learned that focus is important in life, and this might defocus what we are trying to accomplish. More importantly, however, is we might attract a certain crowd that would try to sell us, “bargain land in Japan.”
