NASA Astronaut Cady Coleman, Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson Perform First Space-Earth Duet. NASA Astronaut Cady Coleman, circling Earth aboard the International Space Station, and musician Ian Anderson, founder of the rock band Jethro Tull, joined together for the first space-Earth duet.
He ripped off Roland Kirk early on ...but I can forgive him for that .
Fantastic! Thanks for posting.
My Ian Anderson story: I had tickets for Tull at the Univ of Maryland back in the ‘70’s. When we got there, we learned the show had been cancelled. Well, I’d read that the Stones stayed at Holiday Inns close to their venues and figured if it was good enough for the Stones, it was good enough for Tull.
Gosh darned if we didn’t pull into the Holiday Inn parking lot and there was Ian and the boys, packing up to head to the next town. It turns out that the equipment truck broke down and hadn’t arrived. So the guys were there, but no gear. I got Ian’s autograph (I’m sure he was surprised to see a fan there) and saw the other guys, but was too shy to interrupt them as they were getting ready to leave.
Jethro Tull forever!
Thought this might tickle your fancy, FRiend. :o)
