Thanks for the ping. I’m quite fond of Waco. I had friends there and I used to go to the Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo every fall for several years in the late 90s.

I also always stopped by the Dr Pepper Museum to get a case of those original recipe drinks in the old-fashioned bottles.

And Heitmiller’s steak house - oh, yeah! I was last there in ‘09 on my way to a TCM shoot in the Ft. Worth area.

I like the Waco area - a very nice slice of Americana and very Texan with the Chisholm Trail remnants, two rivers and all of those cattle ranches.

I like it here too. This is my second time to live here — God keeps pulling me back I guess. Both of you FReepmail me if you are ever in the area and we’ll go to George’s for a Big O, then on to Heitmiller’s for a chicken fried steak followed by a Blue Bell float at the Dr (no period) Pepper Museum for dessert.
