Are You Going To Remain A Republican? (Vanity)

Are You Going To Remain A Republican in light of today's gutless actions by both the Senate and House? This was the last straw for me; I'm done! I will be switching my party affiliation tomorrow.

I wrote off the GOP back in 1996.

What’s a Republican? Haven’t seen one of those in a while.

Too late. I dropped the GOP in 2005. They aren’t the parasites the Democrats are, but their fiscal irresponsibility is inexcusable.

Guess I’m gonna have to jump ship.

I’ll wait to hear from Jim and Dr. Wheeler before making my choice.

I’m not thinking straight right noow and am looking for a corkscrew to open this wine I was saving for Friday.

No, because MY GOP represenatives voted NO! Grassley, King, Latham - NO! A majority of Republicans did the same.

So why would I be a complete dumbass and switch?

They couldn’t simply block it, so a compromise was the only choice. they’re politicians. Conservatives didn’t give them enough bargaining power in election.

Wwatching Hannity and David Webb has become a very sharp stick poking at the other side.

I’ll also want to hear from The Great One as well.

No decision til Tuesday the 8th.

I switched my registration to Independent when Romney became the nominee, and I announced it publicly on FR. Still voted for the worthless bugger, but the GOP and I are no longer on friendly, i.e. fund-raising, terms.

I'm reserving judgment on today's vote until I hear from my representative, who knows more about the dirtywork behind it than I do. But I have to say it looks an awful lot like the Republicans simply didn't practice good practical politics, which means getting something in return for a compromise, and no, I don't regard class warfare of any kind as an acceptable compromise. If they can't stand up to the Democrat/media machine then we're going to have to find somebody who can.

I thoroughly respect all the folks here who are dropping out of the R party.
I would respectfully submit that it could be wiser to stay in and try to fix it from inside. If only because third parties have worked only a couple times in over 200 years of American history....
Again, I do understand and would not presume to lecture anybody or claim I’m right about this.
Just a thought...
Happy New Year (!)

IMHO, the best chance is to take the republican party back to its' principles of limited, constitutional government. Join your county Republican committee, use the ideas below.

I have been a member of my county committee years ago when I had time, and plan to get on it again in a couple of years when I retire.

There are two very important weapons for this war. The left has been very adept at using them. Their use doesn't seem to be taught in schools or much of anywhere else, in fact most people aren't even aware of there existence.

Robert's Rules of Order and Mason's Rules.

Parliamentary procedure.

Mason's has nothing to do with the Masonic organization, it just happens to be the name of the author.

There may be other rule sets, but these are the ones I've used.

You can click below for info on Mason's rules. These are the rules most legislatures use. It is customized for each one.

Mason's Rules info

Roberts Rules can be found in paperback on Amazon or your local book store.

To start fighting the war, join your county Republican Committee.

Find out which set of rules it is run by.

Either find another like thinking small government, constitutional government thinker there, or recruit one.

With the proper use of parliamentary procedure, you can take over an amazing amount with just two people.

For instance, you word an amendment to sound good. You propose the amendment, you friend seconds it. You or he moves to move the amendment, the other seconds it. Done quickly you can get things voted on before your opposition even knows what happened.

So far I think the best way to get things done is dragging the Republican party back to the constitution and small government, then chip away at the mess the rats and rinos have created.

As long as Tea Party members and Freepers are sitting on the sidelines, not getting into the grass roots and getting on their county committees, and then next onto the state committes, we might as well just resign ourselves to life under communism.

That's a long wait where a train don't come.

Thanks, I'd rather give myself a high colonic than support your party.

To win, you have to have more than half the votes.

On the way to half the votes +1, you have to get to half of half the votes.

If you can’t control one party, you have no chance to control the government.

If you don’t like having 25% of the people in office representing you, I imagine you will dislike having less than 25% even more.

I just got done reading the fuller summary of the bill they passed.
What a horrible result!!!!

America elects a majority-Republican House and what do they do? Raise taxes yet again, in the middle of Obama’s Great Recession, too.

I would stay in the R party (to make sure can vote in R primaries, many states restrict primary votes to registrants in the respective parties)....I would never send a dime to the current R party central committee, but contribute to individual candidates (regardless of party) who look honest (that cuts down the check-writing a whole lot!) and who espouse sensible policies. NOT FURTHER TAX HIKES and ESPECIALLY NOT in the middle of this terrible downwards economic spiral (Even Keynes knew better than this!!!!!!! The ONLY possible explanation for all these horrible new taxes and tax hikes in the middle of a recession or depression is to deliberately destroy the economy once-and-for-all, or else we’ve elected a gaggle of total morons....which I doubt...)

Pray for America, and I withdraw my earlier note.
Happy New Year

Why is it we conservatives ALWAYS have to be the team players; ALWAYS have to make the concessions; ALWAYS have to take it in shorts?

Sorry, but I longer feel the obligation, or the guilt! I have NO political power as of this moment, but to tell the party who has taken me for granted, sh*t on me, and ignored me, that I've had enough, and no longer want to be part of them.

To those who say we need to stick with the GOP, I ask why? Take a look and see what our sticking by the GOPe has gotten us? Nothing!!

I am seriously thinking of changing to Democrat in order to vote in their primaries. That way I will be able to possibly influence their candidate choices. Can still vote for who I want in the general election.

Switch, its what the MSM and the Liberals want you to do. Its Divide and Conquer. They want a one party system!!!! They know a 3rd party would weaken the Republicans even more, its a win win for them. They want only the 3 branches of Gov’t controlled by them. Think its bad now? WAIT!

The tired excuse of every GOP Liberal
