It has been more than a year since I posted any article directly related to Rossi. Now his device has been independently tested.

and even the summary states a POSSIBLE bit of excess heat..... now that is underwhelming in scientific terms. You keep pushing this silliness and I have to admit I now just get a chuckle out of it.

I wouldn’t call this independent testing.
Rossi is exposed, give it up

Is this the announced test from last year that was supposed to have results released around now?
Is this the same Levi who is Rossi’s friend, then how can it be independent?

“Unknown reaction!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Well, scientists, stop crowing until you determine what the reaction is! Not difficult, guys! This is planet Earth. Not Mars.
Hint. Analyze the elements and compounds going in.
Analyze the elements and compounds coming out.
Is it exothermic or endothermic?
Put a few chemists together in a locked room until they determine what the reaction is.

The tests held in December 2012 and March 2013 are in fact subsequent to a previous attempt in November 2012 to make accurate measurements on a similar model of the E - Cat HT on the same premises. In that experiment the device was destroyed in the course of the experimental run, when the steel cylinder containing the active charge overheated and melted. That sounds like a pretty interesting experiment.
I'm bothered, though, by their method of measuring heat production ("Measurement of the produced heat was performed with high-resolution thermal imaging cameras, recording data every second from the hot reactor tube.").

Their experimental methodology suggests to me the following test: Run an experiment where they produce a constant measured temperature -- the same for the dummy and the E-Cat -- over a period of time, and measure the energy
input for each device, rather than the energy output. If the measured temperature is the same, then the energy output should be the same. If the E-Cat temperature can't be maintained at a constant value, another approach would be to run the E-Cat first and measure the temperature profile over time. Then run the dummy, using the electrical input to continuously match the E-Cat temperature profile over time.
Then the difference in energy input, if any, would be equivalent to the net energy produced by the reaction.
