Treating deaf people like this is not acceptable, but this story raises an interesting question. Can any group just come in to a Starbucks or any public restaurant and use it for their monthly meetings without the businesses permission?

Their overpriced coffee that tasts like burnt motor oil was the main reason I wouldn’t never darken their doorstep. Seems they would try to overcome a crappy product by at least being nice to people who are challenged enough in everyday society. Morons.

"more than 10 people, some of whom bought coffee and pastries"

I wonder how many "some" is. Apparently, there were twelve people..space is at a premium in Starbucks, and I am guessing employees were trying to free up space for paying customers.

The employees went about it in the wrong way.

If I had a business, I would not want a group of twelve people, four of whom bought coffee taking up precious real estate for an hour or more...especially if the group came at a time of the day when a lot of customers who purchased breakfast, or lunch came in.

First of all,we don't know for *sure* that this even happened. It doesn't take much of an imagination to envision a Marxist "disability rights" group...a group akin to Earth First...making this stuff up.It's also not difficult to imagine some tort lawyer making it up.Freepers,no doubt, know that there are lawyers out there who specialize in finding the least little anomaly in the handicapped accessibility of a particular establishment and then sue the pants off of that business.

Of course people with real disabilities...amputees,the blind, the deaf, people with MS,etc...should be treated with decency and respect but lets wait for *all* the facts to come out.
