That’s why I’m kind of hoping it’s a boy. If it’s a girl, everyone will be gushing about how she’ll be first in line after her father, even if she has brothers, what a victory this is for the women’s movement, blah, blah, blah.
The victory was when the succession laws were altered. Personally I’m glad they were. There is no practical reason for preferring males over females any more, and can you imagine what the screams would be if the laws hadnt been changed and the child is a girl?

I hate to point this out to y’all because it might flame the feminist meme, but of all the monarchies left in Europe and Scandinavia, most will be headed by females in the next generation...
Sweden, The Netherlands, Spain, (I think) Belgium, Norway....
