So was he named after George Zimmerman or George Bush? (sound of leftist heads exploding at the thought of either)

From Washington Post:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/britains-royal-baby-is-named-george-alexander-louis/2013/07/24/1127c89c-f48e-11e2-a2f1-a7acf9bd5d3a_story.html

EXCERPT:

Royal baby is named George Alexander Louis

LONDON — The bookies were right: He Who Had No Name is now Prince George.

His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, to be exact.

On Wednesday, that regal name was bestowed on Britain’s two-day old royal baby by his parents, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Although the thoroughly modern royal couple chose a thoroughly modern way to distribute the news, via Twitter, “Prince George” is as old-school as it gets.

No fewer than six British kings have borne the name George, with its personal symbolism for William making it an obvious pick for months in betting pools across this island nation. The last of the six was George VI, William’s great-grandfather, whose valiant battle with a speech impediment as he assumed the throne following his brother’s abdication was dramatized in the Oscar-winning film “The King’s Speech.”

The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.

But every one will know him as Nancy.

Initials are GAL - the boy is a GAL?

Sounds like gender confusion is inevitable... by the Queen signed off on gay marriage, so it’s all good. /sarc

Congrats to the Royal Couple on the birth of their baby, It’s nice seeing life celebrated

At home they call him Skippy.

Hmmm, no “Charles” in the name. I have always thought that the boys did not respect their dad.

This whole royal jazz is just crazy.

The royal family sucks millions and millions of tax dollars and live high on the hog while the average Brit slogs their way through life.

Jetting off here and there. Living in palaces, catered night and day. The best of everything....and what do the royals contribute?

“Alexander” after:

It's like all the Henry's who showed up in the Plantagenet line. "George" is the most established name for a king in the Hannoverian (Oops! I mean Windsor) line going back to George I.

I believe, when it comes to the stuffy and form-bound computers, the last name is still Windsor, as in the "House of Windsor" which is the Royal Family's surname since George V changed it during the unpleasantness of WW1 (1917) from Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

Thus the poor kid is burdened with George Alexander Louis Windsor and maybe by his 60s in the 2070s, George VII. One does wonder, with all of the efforts at dissolution and social changes, if there will still be an England or if he will face east and south 5 times a day. I won't be around then so what do I care.

I don’t care. The USA doesn’t have kings or queens. And I call no one ‘royal highness.’
