Black Self-Sabotage

If we put ourselves into the shoes of racists who seek to sabotage black upward mobility, we couldn't develop a more effective agenda than that followed by civil rights organizations, black politicians, academics, liberals and the news media. Let's look at it.

First, weaken the black family, but don't blame it on individual choices. You have to preach that today's weak black family is a legacy of slavery, Jim Crow and racism. The truth is that black female-headed households were just 18 percent of households in 1950, as opposed to about 68 percent today. In fact, from 1890 to 1940, the black marriage rate was slightly higher than that of whites. Even during slavery, when marriage was forbidden for blacks, most black children lived in biological two-parent families. In New York City, in 1925, 85 percent of black households were two-parent households. A study of 1880 family structure in Philadelphia shows that three-quarters of black families were two-parent households.

During the 1960s, devastating nonsense emerged, exemplified by a Johns Hopkins University sociology professor who argued, "It has yet to be shown that the absence of a father was directly responsible for any of the supposed deficiencies of broken homes." The real issue, he went on to say, "is not the lack of male presence but the lack of male income." That suggests marriage and fatherhood can be replaced by a welfare check.

The poverty rate among blacks is 36 percent. Most black poverty is found in female-headed households. The poverty rate among black married couples has been in single digits since 1994 and is about 8 percent today. The black illegitimacy rate is 75 percent, and in some cities, it's 90 percent. But if that's a legacy of slavery, it must have skipped several generations, because in the 1940s, unwed births hovered around 14 percent.

Along with the decline of the black family comes anti-social behavior, manifested by high crime rates. Each year, roughly 7,000 blacks are murdered. Ninety-four percent of the time, the murderer is another black person. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, between 1976 and 2011, there were 279,384 black murder victims. Using the 94 percent figure means that 262,621 were murdered by other blacks. Though blacks are 13 percent of the nation's population, they account for more than 50 percent of homicide victims. Nationally, the black homicide victimization rate is six times that of whites, and in some cities, it's 22 times that of whites. I'd like for the president, the civil rights establishment, white liberals and the news media, who spent massive resources protesting the George Zimmerman trial's verdict, to tell the nation whether they believe that the major murder problem blacks face is murder by whites. There are no such protests against the thousands of black murders.

There's an organization called NeighborhoodScout. Using 2011 population data from the U.S. Census Bureau, 2011 crime statistics from the FBI and information from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies in the country, it came up with a report titled "Top 25 Most Dangerous Neighborhoods in America." (http://tinyurl.com/cdqrev4) They include neighborhoods in Detroit, Chicago, Houston, St. Louis and other major cities. What's common to all 25 neighborhoods is that their makeup is described as "Black" or "Mostly Black." The high crime rates have several outcomes that are not in the best interests of the overwhelmingly law-abiding people in these neighborhoods. There can't be much economic development. Property has a lower value, but worst of all, people can't live with the kind of personal security that most Americans enjoy.

Disgustingly, black politicians, civil rights leaders, liberals and the president are talking nonsense about "having a conversation about race." That's beyond useless. Tell me how a conversation with white people is going to stop black predators from preying on blacks. How is such a conversation going to eliminate the 75 percent illegitimacy rate? What will such a conversation do about the breakdown of the black family (though "breakdown" is not the correct word, as the family doesn't form in the first place)? Only black people can solve our problems.

That conversation won't help the break down of the black family--a carefully orchestrated event, and one which is not confined to the black community by any measure, just more pronounced there because the community was more vulnerable to the communist agitators who infiltrated/pushed the "Civil Rights" movements of the '60s.

When schools were forcibly integrated, agitation was at its peak. The young were told by the agitators to violently oppose perceived injustice, and those youth quickly discovered that White school administrators were wont to discipline them for fear of being sued for "discrimination".

It didn't take long for white kids to decide "we have equal rights, too" and discipline broke down, and with it any semblance of meaningful education.

Some schools avoided that melee by gerrymandering districts; some by refusing to bus their children (School Buses were being burned in Boston by protestors who did not want their children sent to school with "those people" fully 7 years after MD schools had been integrated, for instance), or simple demographics, but many did not.

Those which did not commonly suffered breakdowns in discipline, and with that, loss of educational opportunity--the same educational opportunity which was supposed to be enhanced by integration.

I could go on about that, but it was an education which was seen as the ticket out of poverty for rural blacks, either that or a military career, and those goals were replaced by the indoctrination and frustration the Communist Left so carefully planted via enlightenment programs, affirmative action, the glorification of drug use (money to be made selling that sh*t to white hippies)--with extensive collateral damage in the black community.

"Rap" hasn't helped--blacks who used to sing now chant litanies about how they are the lowest of their race, their women are classless "hos", and glorifying violence as the sole form of meaningful conflict resolution.

Some self-deprecation may be fine, but in the rural environs of my youth "Nigger" and "Cracker" were terms for the races' respective lowest on the totem pole, only demeaned further by the addition of expletives.

That anyone would refer to themselves, their peers, and their people by the most demeaning of Jim Crow era terms is unfathomable, and bespeaks a lack of respect for self and community. (How do you disrespect someone who refers to themselves as the dregs of their society?)

Referring to women as 'hos' and "bitches" is similarly demeaning. (Would they refer to their mothers thus? ...their Grandmothers? ...to their faces?? Perhaps, but if so that is just a peek at how low self-expectations have fallen.)

If the Black community, for that matter, any community, wants to improve its lot, then ditch the "bitch/ho/nigga" crap and act respectable.

Is that "acting white"? Ask Oprah, ask Bill Cosby. No Black head of state in the world would act that way--and there are some, who when they speak English, do so impeccably, and expect the respect due their station.

Black women: The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. It doesn't matter what color that hand is. You are the first line in demanding respect, not just for yourselves, but of and for your children. Don't let anyone refer to your babies as "nigga", and don't let them refer to themselves that way. You have spent years trying to eliminate such deprecation from the vocabulary of others, so why on Earth would you let anyone call your children by a name once reserved for your cultural trash.

Decide where you want to be--on the 'welfare plantation', or standing on your own two feet, with a man at your side--and you can demand his fealty--if you all do.

Look at your children. If you truly want better for them, raise the bar.

(Whites need to wake up to the whole "cracker" thing, too. The word was reserved for those of low education, morals, and social station, and while we may laugh at "you might be a redneck...", "Cracker" was far lower on the totem pole. At least "trailer trash" had a trailer to call their own.)

If you want peace and prosperity you can have that, but it will take time and work to reverse the crap that has been foisted on you by the same liberals who claimed they were helping. They were not helping, although they made it sound nice.

They broke down your families, they stole your self-respect, they told your children drugs were 'cool', they claimed they were educating them while they passed them through high school unable to read, and they blamed anyone and everyone else for the problems they helped create.

It isn't "acting white" to want success, everyone wants that.

It isn't "acting white" to want a stable family.

It isn't "acting white" to excel at something like science (George Washington Carver), medicine (Dr. Charles Drew), a trade (Eugene Siladay), or the classical arts (Raven Wilkinson/Lauren Anderson). You don't need some 'special' program to succeed (how demeaning!), just raise your expectations of yourselves, your children, your men, your community.

It is going to take work, and time--this mess was not made overnight. It has taken over 50 years of effort for the Communists and others to derail the progress Black people had made in America. It may even take longer to reverse the damage, but the solution lies with you, and no one else can do this for you.
