Fans of Clint Eastwood will recognize that at least one of his Spaghetti westerns was a remake of the film which is the source of the first excerpt.

I don’t know anything about him but he seems to be in any American movie with Japanese in it.

Another one is the guy who played Zatoichi the Blind Swordsman. Totally nonsense but still really entertaining to watch.

And may I add, many of his performances, such as in Yojimbo and Seven Samurai, were greatly enhanced by the brilliant direction of Akira Kurosawa.

I like the one scene where he draws his sword and you have the “old faithful blood spurt”, LOL

My favorite scene with Toshiro Mifune:

"I hate the British..."

Start at 3:25 mark

I loved ‘Throne of Blood.” It didn’t use any lines from Shakespeare, yet captured the essence of Macbeth better than many films today.

Shintaro Katsu? The pot smoking samurai. The best Japanese samurai series EVER is the "Hissatsu Shigoto-nin" series where you had people assassinating that bad guys with guitar wire and sharp flower stems.

This is the kind of vanity we all love. Mifune + Kurosawa = cinema heaven.

Yojimbo? I read that to make the final scene the special effects people used a bladder filled with chocolate under 35 lb of pressure.

Zatoichi used to come on one of the channels which played old movies and tv shows. I got hooked on them.

Just enough humor and sometimes a pretty good story. The whole thing about him being able to sense just about anything was more than a little unbelievable but it was not really that serious of a show anyway.

The Zatoichi movies were pretty mush the only reason to tune into IFC at all, at least for me. They played them a few years ago. I recall one with Zatoichi stalking and being stalked in this village during a snow fall, just looked awesome.
