TSA Precheck Program; How It Works.

TSA Pre✓™ is a pre-screening initiative that makes risk assessments on passengers who voluntarily participate prior to their arrival at the airport checkpoint.

TSA Pre✓™ includes U.S. Citizens who are select frequent travelers of participating airlines or members of existing Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler programs including Global Entry, NEXUS, and SENTRI programs. Canadian citizens who are members of NEXUS are also qualified to participate in TSA Pre✓™. In addition, passengers 12 and younger are allowed through TSA Pre✓™ lanes when traveling with an eligible parent or guardian.

So I was on business travel this week and much to my surprise, my boarding passes had this TSA "Pre-Check" logo on them.

I don't remember voluntarily signing up for this. In fact, when I asked TSA about it, she told me the airlines are making the assessments based on frequent fliers and so forth.

The process let me keep my shoes on, light jacket, didn't have to take laptop out. Belt on too! I went through the magnetometers both times. If you buzz, it's like the old days and stand aside to be groped.

The lines were moving incredibly faster as well. It was just like before 9/11 actually. I wonder if they will be profiling behavior and appearance a little more?

Is this a good change for TSA? I think so, lots less stress on everyone as long as they keep their eyes OPEN!!

Even the Bob Hope International Airport in Burbank which is a throwback era in itself, has implemented this procedure. They gave me an orange card to hold and pass off to the magnetometer screener. No buzz...off I went.

I love flying into Burbank. Southwest usually, but United this time. I sat next to a lady of similar age to me and we briefly chatted. She is from Colorado Springs, retired Air Force and she has two dogs. We laughed and chuckled a little too much over the current fates of Obozamma and apparently irritated the liberal lady sitting in front of us.

I got glared at by LibScreenWriter Lady twice when I mentioned “Thank God for FoxNews, without them we wouldn’t know anything about the ObommerCare Debacle”...GLARE!!

I will not comply to being PC any more in public, within certain parameters of course.

United, when you land early you better have the gate ready. Kinda defeats the purpose of arriving early and then sitting on the tarmac for 30 mins. Don’t they KNOW this stuff by now? The jetstream blows and we go faster.

Irritating.

I hope so. Maybe they should make all Muslims wear an arm patch with a cresent moon on it. (Just pushing my own limits. I am not sure if I would agree with that or not, but if I didn't I'd probably keep my mouth shut about it.)

Thanks for posting this. I have a United flight from Knoxville, TN to Sacramnto, CA in Dec. I’ll need to check with United.

My wife is in the program recently and has had her last several trips through security faster. Commenting on it to the agent the last time they said they will randomly screen precheck passengers just to keep you guessing. I gave up flying over twenty years ago.

Yes, they make you scan your boarding pass and it gives ared or green light. Much like random customs.
