With today's news of the passing of Peter O'Toole and as a follow up to last week's mfasa of "Becket", today's feature is "Lawrence of Arabia."

It's in two parts:

Ooo thanks...my #1 movie. Will have to send link to my gf who also loves Lawrence. She even travelled to Jordan in the 80s to see Wadi Rum and other sites.

I still have the plastic wrapped VHS 2 tape version of Lawrence of Arabia. I better head to eBay, it may be worth something. :-)

Gunny Hartman: “I don’t like the name Lawrence...only faggots and sailors are called Lawrence! From now on you’re Gomer Pyle!” Pyle: “Sir, yes sir!”

The digital restoration of Lawrence of Arabia on Blu-ray is absolutely stunning and worth adding to one’s video library.

RIP Peter O'Toole. One of the only actors I can think of where the word "powerful" applies. He was also blessed with that rare natural gold-blond hair and coloring which runs in my family (got a handsome brother who had the exact same Lawrence hair/complexion when he was Lawrence's age some 30 years ago) and which is so dramatic in real life as to make O'Toole's Lawrence all the more believable.

Peter O'Toole was absolutely fabulous in Lawrence of Arabia, a great movie all around. (Ever notice that any movie with Jack Hawkins in it is great?!?) ONLY O'Toole could have done Lawrence. The role belonged to him completely.

Thanks for all the hours of great entertainment and acting, Peter O'Toole. God take you.

“ONLY O’Toole could have done Lawrence. The role belonged to him completely.”

Agreed. He should’ve won the Oscar that year for Best Actor instead of Gregory Peck IMHO.

They say “There’s no accounting for taste.” I guess that’s true. I’d prefer having a colonoscopy to watching anything with Peter O’Toole.

True...that happens a lot. Friend clued me in that Runaway Train was on YT the other day and got to watch that one again. Jon Voight, another great actor.

Well ... there are those who would say the same thing to the prospect of watching "The Rifleman" ...!

*ducking*

I rather watch the Rifleman or a Peter O’Toole flick than anything with most of today’s celebs(especially Alec Baldwin or Smiley Virus) in it.

No it’s in English. That’s just a German Video poster for it.

Hawkins plays Khufu the Pharaoh while a 23 year old Miss Joan Collins plays his scheming and villainous 2nd wife Nellifer in it.

Here’s the trailer for it-
