Dozens of neuroscientists are protesting Europe’s $1.6 billion attempt to recreate the functioning of the human brain on supercomputers, fearing it will waste vast amounts of money and harm neuroscience in general.

The 10-year Human Brain Project is largely funded by the European Union. In an open letter issued Monday, more than 190 neuroscience researchers called on the EU to put less money into the effort to “build” a brain, and to invest instead in existing projects. …

It would just be a fast computer. No emotions, no imagination. No biology involved.

Reminds me of the ancient TV commercial for Wonder Bread:
“It’s great for growing young bodies.”

Steve Allen quipped, “Good. Grow me an 18 year-old female.”

Yep. It takes more than infinite software to achieve consciousness.

They could save a bundle O’money by first modelling Obama’s brain.

It could be done with a maximum of ten d*ck-sistors along with a few assorted dum-pacitors and nonductors.

No power needed, since his d*med brain appears incapable of performing even the most elementary logical operations.

Looks like we have some people that dont “believe in science”.

And that money could be better spent studying Global Warming.

Yes, EU needs brains; natural or synthetic does not really matter. Just something that makes the bloody organization work.

To make it work would mean abandoning the social market economy and the other socialistic structures. But they sure are not going to do that.

But they sure are not going to do that.

Which is brain-less. Or as Dr North at Eureferendum expressed it; "Shouldn't they have completed this €1.19bn project before they appointed Juncker?"

But then again...

The statue of the beast is the great golden statue the beast erects to wickedness.

The Book of Revelation shows us that the appearance of the Beast will revolve around an unholy statue. The Man of Evil, it says, will erect a statue to honor the beast with the mortal wound which healed. That beast is heathen government. He will be able to breathe life into the statue and make it speak. (Rev.13:14-16).

"Through the miracles which it (the second beast) was allowed to do on behalf of the first beast, it was able to win over the people of the world and persuade them to put up a statue in honour of the beast that had been wounded by the sword and still lived. It was allowed to breathe life into this statue, so that the statue of the beast was able to speak, and to have anyone who refused to worship the statue of the beast put to death. (Rev.13:14-15).

Statue = modern machine = supercompter.
