Arınç chided Turkish women saying, “Where are our girls, who slightly blush, lower their heads and turn their eyes away when we look at their face, becoming the symbol of chastity?” he said.

This is not the first time that a member of PM Erdogan’s AK Party espoused misogynist views in public. …

He comes off like the Manchurian Candidate to me.

He hasn't the slightest clue what he's president of.

If Turkey wants to be part of Europe they can start by not electing ISLAMIC EXTREMISTS to run their country.

Be careful with the semantics of the words here. Too many European elites conflate “part of Europe” with “part of the European Union”. There is only one part of Turkey that is part of the continent of Europe, and that’s everything west of the Bosphorus; the rest is part of Asia Minor.

Quite often after Atatürk’s death, “Islamic extremists” have attained power only for the secular military to remove them from office; this time around, with Abdullah Gül as president and Erdogan as prime minister, the military’s top brass was changed from secular to Islamic.

I do know the geography there. It’s like Russia - they have to decide which way to face. Both seem to be facing away from Europe at this time.

Europe is “facing away from” itself too. It’s heading towards totalitarianism once more.

He hasn't the slightest clue what he's president of.

And that sums it up very well. Is there a bumper sticker?

“Europe is “facing away from” itself too. It’s heading towards totalitarianism once more.”

Yep, FOR SURE! Either it will be Europeans as the masters, or their recently-arrived newbies from the South...but one way or another, Europe will be totalitarian within, probably 20 years.

...and they have NO ONE else to blame but THEMSELVES for it.
