For the parents of a first-grader in Florida, simply asking their son what he did on his first day of school this year was not enough.

That’s one way to keep an eye on the teacher.
Man, I feel sorry for that kid if his parents don't learn how to let go a little.
Public schools do not deserve trust
Just wait till the youngster gets his first smartphone...
Future “bullied cam” I’m thinking.
If they can't trust the school they're sending him to, then they're negligent parents. That isn't what this was about. And if it was, they should send him to a private school they do trust, or homeschool him. But to put a camera on him all day?! Seriously?
I belong to a homeschooling group, and all the moms and oftentimes dads, too, come with the kids for the weekly activities. We’re all our kids’ primary teachers.
There’s really nothing wrong with parents participating in their children’s lives - it’s a product of modern, “the government schools know best” mentality to think otherwise. For thousands of years, kids lived happily with parents at home on farms or in villages. It doesn’t necessarily ruin a child’s life to have a parent along. We certainly don’t go out and play with them with the other kids during free time or lunch time - we like to talk nearby with adults.
Just for one day? Sounds like an interesting project
and if it is a public school, then nothing that happens there is a secret from parents, right?
I have no problem with that. We occasionally did the same when our kids were in school. But that's not what this was. I still think this kid is at risk of being raised by helicopter parents. I could be wrong, but that's the way I see it.
I've seen mothers leave their husbands for 4 years to actually move to the city where their kid was going to college so they could help manage their lives. They call their kids' professors to complain when their kid gets a "B" instead of an "A". That's what this smacks of, in my opinion. Your mileage may vary.
That wasn't what this was about. And if they don't trust the school, then what the hell are they doing sending him there?! They should find a school they do trust, or homeschool him.
I wish my daughter had worn (a secret) one a few times in high school. I would have had several a hole teachers and administrators t!ts in a wringer for sure.
clever ways of using a GOPRO camera
