After a rough day at work, it's hard to beat coming home to people a happy household. Baby Isaiah can barely stand up, but patiently waits at the window for his daddy to come home. When he sees his car, he waves and then speed-crawls his way to greet his hero. That's a worthwhile homecoming.

My sons used to do this, too. The youngest would get a real deep voice and holler Da! when he came home. He was trying to lower his voice to sound like his daddy who he adored (and still does).

Family life is so sweet for it’s love.

Dad didn’t come in acting like a little girl, clown or buffoon? How can that be? His baby didn’t tell him how to buy car insurance? Wow!

You’ve got that right! I used to love coming home to my kids being excited. Now they are all grown and I get to play with the grandkids. I’m a fun grandpa!

THAT is the best video I’ve seen in a long time. THIS is the kind of video that the race baiters wouldn’t understand.

It seems so simple and good to us, on this board. And there are so many people (or at least so many people with loud mouths) who hate everything about this— all of the things we look at and take comfort from: a stay-at-home mom (I’m assuming, she wasn’t in the picture, but that kid wasn’t being looked after by the dog); they’re white; they live in a modest suburb; etc etc. Listening to the loud voices attacking everything we grew up admiring, and that we worked so hard for our own families to have, leaves me absolutely mystified: what in the world would the loudmouths put in place of these simple and good things????

That reminds me of a time when I was waiting at an airport to pick someone up as a plane discharged it’s oilfield workers for the weekend.

Two little boys, maybe 2 and 5, were running back and forth in excitement, just working off a little energy. All of a sudden the older one looked up and saw his Dad get off the plane. Perhaps he had forgotten why they were there, or maybe he did know, but the wonder and love in his voice as he cried out to his little brother, “it’s Daddy!, it’s Daddy!”, i will never forget.

I mentored a young man who was in prison but released with cancer. His son aprox age 4 had never seen his Dad. Dad went through several sessions of chemo and had to throw up in the waste basket. The son wanted to be like dad so much, he pretended to do the same.

God has created a really strong bond there................
