I wish people posted more pictures shaming their CHILDREN, instead of those silly dog shaming photos.
Dogs have no shame, LOL!
You didn’t WANT to get my Dad mad and he had NO problem immediately correcting our behavior in public.
Wish todays Dads would kick more butt. Wish more of todays kids HAD Dads at home. :(

In my church when young there was a young girl who was stunningly beautiful. Easily looked and acted 20 years old.
Unfortunately, she was 12.

I would have forced her to give me her web pages address, posted the pictures there for a few days, maybe even harvesting her "boy friends" links (for perhaps retaliation), then delete her pages. As a precaution, I would also suggest using a new identity for yourself while doing all this, so the boy friends can't get to you.

I agree with the Dad and hope the kid learns what he is trying to teach her.
This could have a very good ending, or not, but it depends on how the child reacts.
I hope the mother is lined up with Pops, if not, look out.

Bad idea. I don't think Dad thought this through. I would worry that a 10 year old girl with that story could become a target of internet creeps, or worse. Young girls shouldn't be thrown into the spotlight like that, IMO.
Another thing is that this is forever. From now on, whenever anyone googles her name, this will be the first thing that shows up. See my tagline.

Had a girl in my gradeschool class who developed early. Tall, blonde and very buxom. She looked 25 when the rest of us were maybe 13.
Lost track of her after that. She was a sweet girl and I hope the attention she got didn’t jade her too much, but I always felt sorry for her - she really had to grow up much too soon. I’m sure it would be a lot to deal with for a young teen or preteen.

What a culture.
I feel bad for the Dad. I really do. But this kind of shaming doesn’t work.
She will be a mom at 15.

You know what I believe? I am thankful to this man for caring about decency in his daughter’s life and making reasonable rules, but I find that men who spend enough time with their daughters have daughters that are not boy crazy. Not scientific, but it’s what I believe.

I’m always confused by these public displays, is it really discipline or the Dad screaming “look at me, I’m a good parent” Wouldn’t taking away phone, internet be a better place to start? When we had that problem with our 13 year old daughter talking to strangers online, that’s where we started. Then, I sat down with her and went thru the sex offender registry in our area. She was shocked at how many “looked normal”. Then after she got internet back, I would occasionally check up on her online. Never a problem.

Other commenters, however, have objected to Joness public form of punishment. On Jezebels story (http://jezebel.com/dad-puts-10-year-old-daughter-on-blast-for-lying-about-1651745899) about the situation, YolandiVisser wrote, I definitely dont think the fathers intentions were bad, but whether he meant to or not he publicly humiliated this girl at an age where anything that happens to her is going to end up being very formative. And I think being shamed in front of all of the internet is a pretty big deal to a young girls self esteem. Thats something shes going to remember forever. Gee, a "sex in the city" style hedonist website attacks the father for shaming his daughter for lying about her age and seeking 'relations' with older men. What a surprise.

Thank God my boys grew up in the last generation with no net.
Unfortunately I have a 13 yr old great granddaughter who could pass for 18. But she is closely monitored by her mom and grandma. Who know all about computers. And Grandpa and uncle are very big men and very protective.

Bad idea. This "shaming" is going to be with this girl for a lifetime. When she is going through high school and even into her adult years, people are going to be pulling this up on the Internet and she'll never live it down.
Any relationship she had with her father is likely irrevocably damaged.
To: WhiskeyX
