If global temperatures continue to rise, the taste of your favourite wine could either drastically change, or the drink could be off the menu completely.
A wine expert has warned that fine wines in particular, such as Pinot Noir, are having their flavour significantly altered due to climate change.
And, as a result, vineyard owners are ditching these grape varieties in favour of those that are better equipped to handle the increases in global temperature.

Blueberry wine will Rule The world
I have yet to find a lib warmist that knows what an Interglacia; Warming Period is, much less any explanation for the Younger Dryas cooling period. You cannot debate with idiots.
Well, I will just have to switch to Pinot Grigio then.
BS
Pino Noir is delish precisely because of cold weather and the ground the grapes are grown in....
I don’t care! Wine gives me a headache. 290 minutes after drinking a glass of celebratory champaigne I’m in a dark room with a pounding headache. I’ll stick with Vodka, thank you!
Great news for Riesling lovers. Both sides of the Mosel could be planted!
They should be planting grapes that will tolerate colder temperatures if anything...
It’s the nectar of the gods.
LOL, dope rhymes.
YEP.
Dundee district Pinot
Please note that the cited author is not a viticultural expert. She is a professor of “sustainability,” whatever that is. She is also from Sweden, not exactly a major producer of wine. The article does not cite any statistics showing the replacement of Pinot Noir vines with other varietals. It contains only speculation that varietals that prefer cooler climes (Chardonnay anyone?) may be replaced with other varietals. Basically, the article is just more climate change BS. It is certainly possible that Pinot Noir is being displaced outside of Burgundy, because by and large Pinot Noir based wines produced elsewhere are pale imitations of those produced on the Golden Slope.
It’s weird how the current crop of meatheads living on this planet have forgotten how to adapt to change.
Perhaps she should consider recent new trends in grafting root stock, trellising, and the addition of sugar, done with Burgundies since they usually do not mature enough. New vinification techniques also come into play....on and on.
All this Globull warming stuff ain’t gonna affect the Mad Dog and Wild Irish Rose crops, is it?
The bomb...
Will these clowns ever stop floundering around for a straw to grasp?
Gator, I knew you’d find it!
Its the cooling that is making it tough for the vintners.
Grapes can handle the heat easily, but they never ripen if it is too cold.
.
The Napa Valley is definitely not “moderate.” Its a hot place, and that is why the best Pinot Noir grows there.
.
The Vikings called modern-day Newfoundland “Vinland” because of the abundance of grapes there.
