Has Stanford University found a cure for Alzheimer's disease?
The Telegraph ^ | 12/08/2014 | By Sarah Knapton, Science Editor

Alzheimer's could be prevented and even cured by boosting the brain's own immune response, scientists at Stanford University believe.

Researchers discovered that nerve cells die because cells which are supposed to clear the brain of bacteria, viruses and dangerous deposits, stop working.

These cells, called 'microglia' function well when people are young, but when they age, a single protein called EP2 stops them operating efficiently.

Now scientists have shown that blocking the protein allows the microglia to function normally again so they can hoover up the dangerous sticky amyloid-beta plaques which damage nerve cells in Alzheimer's disease. The researchers found that, in mice, blocking EP2 with a drug reversed memory loss and myriad other Alzheimer’s-like features in the animals.

“Microglia are the brain’s beat cops,” said Dr Katrin Andreasson, Professor of neurology and neurological sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine.

“Our experiments show that keeping them on the right track counters memory loss and preserves healthy brain physiology.”

All I can tell you is to use your search engine.

There is a huge market because there are so many people that have regained function, and that is curing in most people’s view.

And, as I said in several previous post, I did a great amount of research on the Internet and have yet to find any testimony of anybody being “cured”. Found may articles that indicated that the disease hand been slowed, but no outright cure.

I come from a family that has had many members suffer from this insidious disease and I am in line to be follow their example (at 68), so I am extremely interested.

And no, I’m not trolling ... far from it, I am scared and want find out as much as I can before it is to late for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not afraid of dieing, just afraid of being a burden on my family.

There's a lesson about our illegal immigration problem in there.

“The US govt has over 100 trillion in unfunded liabilities going forward. Now that’s one hell of a hole they’ve dug us into. No wonder they don’t want us to figure out what they’re up to.”

Actually, “they”, the ExtortionCare Lobby and all the govt. Depts./Bureaus and their aides, want every Congressman/women, as senile as possible unable to make decisions for themselves.

Apoaequorin, from jellyfish, has been curing Alzheimers for several years.

.

Only in mice and only when injected. Orally it cannot cross the blood brain barrier.

Thanks.

The FDA letter was quite on the money and this seems a snake oil scam.

I hope and pray a cure is coming. This disease is destroying both of my parents.

May I suggest you check into the Life Extension Foundation? www.lef.org

Also, Hoffer’s work on niacin. (vitamin B-3)
It’s 50 years old or more. It worked for his mother.

Also, information on EVCO (extra virgin coconut oil)

And finally, www.earthclinic.com

There is no question that it is crossing the BB barrier in humans.

In the early clinical trials, too much was crossing!

The original dose proposed was found to be way too much, and had to be reduced to produce a marketable product without deleterious side effects.

>> “What troubles me about all this is when someone claims to have a cure for something, someone else comes along & claims it’s not so or it doesn’t work. This seems to happen a lot” <<

That is shills from the medical industry trying to shut out anything that might reduce their bottom line.
