Why? Why? Why? Seattle Seahawks fans will be asking that question for eternity

"just insane." "I was hoping they were going to just fall into the goal. That's all that needed to happen," said Baily, 23.

Lynch was just there so he wouldn’t be fined.

won't be forgottenFor the Seattle Seahawks, a second consecutive Super Bowl victory was just 1 yard away, with 26 seconds remaining in the game.

pride cometh before the fall ... The hawks thought they could be dramatic and spetacular ... God saw it otherwize ..
But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

I wonder if there ever was a team that had needed as much dumb luck to get as far as they did.

It’s obvious that they thought that a pass instead of the run would catch them off guard. They were wrong.

Well, they did win it all just last year. Not many teams have ever gotten to two straight SB’s.

brain deadAn unforgivable decision decided an unforgettable game.
To: Berlin_Freeper
I was honestly stunned. Immediately, I turned to my wife and said, “That might be the worst play call in the history of football. Whoever decided on that play should be hung before midnight.”
I cannot put into words for the lay person, including my wife, how utterly incomprehensibly stupid it was. There is almost nothing to compare it to.

Could not happen to a better team. Classless and thuggish.
From Baldwin crap on the football celebration to getting guys ejected for fighting with 20 seconds to go. Stay Classy Seattle.

And remember, it was only 2nd down.
To: Berlin_Freeper
A pass play on 2nd down isn't necessarily a bad call but it should not be over the middle into traffic. You had to know the linebackers would be clogging the center expecting a run and that puts them in position to make a pick, which is what happened. So if you're going to try a pass do a fade to the corner or something. If that fails then punch it in on 3rd and 4th down.
But, armchair coaching after the fact is easy, so its time for me to STHU.

I look at it this way. I'm a some-time football fan who knows about as much about the game as any other Joe. The Seahawks' coach is a highly-paid, highly-skilled professional coach with many years' experience and a through understanding of the game who has led his team to victory time and again. What I know about football compared to what he knows is as a drop of water to a bucketful.
Now, there's no way in hell I would have called a pass on that play. Therefore, passing was the correct option.
