The planet hadnt seen a major war between all the Great Powers since the downfall of Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815. But 99 years later the dam breaks and a Pandoras Box of violence engulfs the planet.
I just finished "Wrath of the Khans" which chronicles the expanding of the Mongolian Empire under Genghis Kahn, and am now listening to "Blueprint for Armageddon" which chronicles The Great War (WWI).
Highly recommended for those who have long commutes or like to listen to books on tape.
Dan Carlin is AWESOME!!!!!!
Mr Kitty and I just finished the entire series last weekend heading back from vacation. Hardcore History is a must for all our road trips. I strongly recommend any of Carlin’s podcasts. Every podcast I’ve listened to is not only educational, but very entertaining as well. My youngest loved his series on the fall of the Roman Republic which ran 15 hours. Since the kid is taking Latin, he’s now the class historical expert.
Dan Carlin rocks!!
I wholeheartedly concur with everyone’s high praise. Unbelievably good stuff. I’ve made my way through the WWI series and well into the Genghis Kahn series. Wonderful for long trips.
