It has been going on since at least Woodrow Wilson. The progressives here are copying the British Fabian Socialists. They believed in Evolution not Revolution because it ends in the same place.

The Long March is not murky when it comes to political parties. The New Left of McCarthy and McGovern captured the Democratic Party from the traditional trade union bosses, best represented by Hubert Humphrey.
The Liberal conquest of American institutions has been going on since about 1900. It was organized and carried out like a choreographed ballet. Academia, Churches, Media with its vast ability to form and maintain attitudes and lately business has become far left.

What changed during Clinton’s days was that the media turned full-throttle towards helping Democrats. Prior to that they at least made some effort to get both sides. Now they’re done with that pretense. Example: When Hillary is on Meet The Press, she gets the questions in advance. Does anyone think that’s the case for Republicans?
