Should we start a Paris murder humor thread?
When we see absurd things: like Obama and Hollande, I think it is ok to point out their absurdity.
There is more often truth in those comments than the “sympathy” comments that do no good.
AGREED. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Too serious about something makes it all seem common place, part of the new normal. Levity, humnor, and smiles add joy to what is otherwise terrifying.
If I want serious, then tune in the radio, the TV, the cable.
I agree with you there. I don't find that distracting. It's actually part of the story.
What I do find distracting and unhelpful are the attempts at humor. Comments such as: "Oh, those Amish!", "Has the French Army surrendered yet?", etc.
Of course, all of this is just my opinion. And as I noted before, I mean it to apply to serious and breaking news only.
