Yiannopoulos discussed the current business turmoil at Twitter and how, instead of trying to right the ship, the social platform is trying to flex its political muscle with moves that will marginalize right-wing voices. More disturbingly, he said, is the more financially stable Facebook and its coordination with government censorship:
Itâs not just Facebook weâre talking about. They own WhatsApp and they own Instagram. And WhatsApp and Instagram are two of the companies that are winning the short messaging warâthat are winning the war for Millennial attention and for Millennial users. Twitter lost that war. Twitter only really appeals to media people: people like you and people like me. We want to kind of keep in touch with our peers. And then some of our fans who are, like, really really keen might sign up for a Twitter account just to see our witty sayings or whatever clever lines we toss off on the way to the train station in the morning. But primarily, Twitter has lost that war. Snapchat, Instagram, WhatsAppâthese are the networks that have billions of users. These are the networks that are getting young users, and Facebook owns two of those three.
The other thing to bear in mind is that Facebook so far has a really really bad track record when it comes to free speech. And not just a bad track record censoring different political opinions like Twitter does. Facebookâs moves are even more sinister, in a way. Facebook has teamed up with governments to censor certain political opinions that the incumbent party doesnât like. In Germany, for instance, Facebook has teamed up with Angela Merkel to censor reasonable, respectable, mainstream concern about mass Muslim immigrationâor just about mass immigration in generalâand has started removing this stuff and classifying it as âhate speech.â...

Zuck knows who butters his bread. He would not be allowed to continue his business without his doing the government bidding.
Terrifying but not surprising.
Facebook, Google, Twitter and many others have already proven that they will collaborate with governments to censor news (Germany, New Year’s eave mass grope/rape).
There is no guessing about this. They have already done it ... they will do it in the future, probably on a large scale.
We need to have alternate ways to communicate.
Ditto to what you said.
Milo bringing the info to the right. Good.
Create an alternative and stop bitching conservatives. I’m not supporting what Facebook is doing, but conservatives are competitors.
Merkel tells Zuc on hot mic to control the migrant or rather anti-migrant news.
So yeah, I’m shocked!!
Que the Casa Blanca photo...
Wasn’t the Zuck always in the governments back pocket? Facebook was always a data mining site.
Its not like it offered anything new (myspace and various other sites already existed).
Casablanca.. sorry!
“they will collaborate with governments to censor news (Germany, New Yearâs eave mass grope/rape)”
And the relationship between the Russian uranium deals and the land grabs in the West and Southwest.
And the odd coincidence of millions flowing into the Clinton Foundation from all the bankers involved in the uranium deal.
Can’t say “knockout game” any more either!
I listened to the interview on the Sirius link listed here but when it got to the end it was not finished. Where is the rest of it?
this link in the article you posted is compelling in it’s scariness factor:

I’m already there. Facebook with privacy and the ability to remove your content. No facial scanning. and your information is not mined for commercial purposes. You do know Facebook claims a proprietary interest in your photographs. All you will lose is the opportunity to play Angry Birds.

I don’t know why it would be “terrifying.” The people who run Facebook can do whatever the hell they want when it comes to censoring their content. Most people who would really care about this have probably outgrown that stupid social media website anyway.
It would be nice to have a backup location for Free Republic other than Zuckerberg’s leftist wasteland. You know Jim has our backup site on FB. It’s Facebook without the facial scanning of photos less the opportunity to give up your information for commercial purposes on the scale Zuckerberg does. Here’s the TOS info: https://mewe.com/terms Privacy appears to be paramount there.
It took me about 6 months to come to the conclusion that FB is working for the government. I killed my page.
I also knew the government was tracking people on FB. Some relatives of mine called me a “dumb POS” over the comment.
(I also realized it was a huge waste of time.)
Every conservative should cancel their FB page and let it die.

Yes.
And there are some advocating that if you do not have a Facebook page (or a social media presence) you should not be hired. Of course, that’s up to the employer but to advocate for that is beyond the pale IMO.

Zuckenberg is a communist douchbag.
Worth repeating. Another way of putting it is that Zuckenberg is the face of globalism.
