Lance Armstrong should be given an award for being a Master Liar and Cheat. He was only a “great’ bicyclist because of Dr. Ferrari; before he started doping, he was a mediocre hill climber and road racer (for a Tour participant) who would have been lucky to have remained a “domestique” in the Tour. His money was stolen, he is nothing but a low grade thief and liar who has no criticism of any validity against Tygart and USADA.
And he pretty much defined a sport for a least the casual fans. It was a sport of one for most Americans.
He does make a good point vs the cost of the anti-doping bodies vs the number of dopers they find by testing. Not sure of any solution for it, besides throwing your hands up and walking away from caring about it.

A high school friend of my son’s tried to make it in cycling, get on pro teams, etc., and was having some success. This about 8-10 years ago.
He gave up because it was impossible to compete at the top levels without juicing. He went to culinary school.
