Dems giddy over reported Laura Bush endorsement for Hillary Clinton April 11, 2016 | Carmine Sabia | Print Article

Democrats giddy about Laura Bush‘s recent comments on the presidential election are getting a dose of reality.

Last week, the former first lady was speaking at the Women In The World summit in New York when she made a statement that caused some to jump to the conclusion that Mrs. Bush is “ready for her.”

“I want our next president — whoever he or she might be — to be somebody who is interested in women in Afghanistan and who will continue U.S. policies … that we continue to do what we’re committed to do as a country,” Bush said.

“That’s who I want — or the kind of people that will do that and will pay attention to our history, and know what’s happened before and know specifically how we can continue to do the good things that we do around the world,” she continued.

Did that mean Mrs. Bush was supporting Hillary Clinton for president?

"Can someone point me to the actual quote where she says she is voting for Hillary? I’m not finding it"

Although there are plenty of GOPE that have stated that they would definitely vote for Hillary Clinton unless their approved GOPE candidate is the nominee, the former FLOTUS would not have approval from GOPE to make such a statement publicly.

“I want our next president — whoever he or SHE might be — to be somebody who is interested in women in Afghanistan and who will continue U.S. policies …"

Laura Bush

However, many in the audience took her remark as a nod to the former secretary of state.

Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, is the only female candidate left in the race and visited Afghanistan four times during her time at the State Department.

-- She's a nice woman, but she did so little with all the potential she had as first lady. --

Thank God for small favors.

I think anyone who is interested in women in Afghanistan, or any other -stan, should be permanently disqualified from any office in the United States.

Laura Bush cares more about women in Afghanistan than she cares about women in the USA.

Bah, she may care about women in Afghanistan in an intellectual sense but there's no way it's her top issue. It's just a way for her to dance around and justify her backing Hillary. Face it people, the Bush's took over the GOP in the 80s and have merged it with the Democrat party. Everything they say in public is just bread and circuses for the masses, what they DO is what matters. And it's not good.

To be honest, in my lifetime since Reagan I can only think of two things they have actually fought for. Amnesty, which they fight tooth and nail for, and stopping Trump, which they fight dirty for. Stopping Obama? Hah! They've helped Obama!

If this is true, that will evaporate whatever little bit of goodwill I had left for the Bush clan.

The entire 8 years of GWB was something most of us will never live down. The last establishment pawn the RNC will ever get elected.. The guy who paved the way for Obama.

I care more about the people in this country, especially our veterans. We are not the world’s dad. Let them take care of themselves. Is that mean?

I agree with your statement wholeheartedly. I am sick of the whole corrupt process and the money hungry evil liars that are parading across my TV screen.

Well, recall the choice in one of them, Bush verses Ann Richards. I voted in that one for Bush too. Buddy of mine, who refused to vote for either, said she is a drunk, bush is a dope.

Lots of these kids, right out of high school, go into the service because they have faith in our goodness and the rule of law under our Constitution.

To betray them is one of the greatest sins.

The system is rigged to keep the people entertained with political battle. I mean, look at the alternatives, Gore and Kerry! Just saying, it's quite understandable that good people would support GWB under those circumstances, and it's quite normal for a leader to develop a cult following as well.

As for the system, that is a proposition of "Heads I win, tails you lose."

-- The last establishment pawn the RNC will ever get elected. --

Maybe, but if the RNC is cut down, its remains will resurrect under a new name. The globalist transition team is everywhere, and it is relentless. It will never give up. It is driven by money, more money than you can imagine.

The people aren't angry enough to even engage in civil disobedience; and probably never will be. The chaos created by Trump, and what that illuminates, is quite temporary.

The correct spelling, from the Old German, is “Roofied”.

Example: “I voted for Bush and woke up in an alley in a far away city with my pants around my ankles; It was obvious that I was roofied.”
