Here's Why FBI Director Comey Can't Give Hillary A Free Pass
Investors Business Daily ^ | Jul 2, 2016 | Scott S. Powell

Posted on 07/05/2016 1:23:56 AM PDT by Ray76

The facts known about actions taken by Hillary Clinton while secretary of state surrounding the use of an unsecure private email server for conducting government business show that she violated 10 federal statutes. Several are national-security-related felonies, just three of which include: 1. disclosure of classified information (22 documents were Top Secret), 2. unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents, and 3. destruction of evidence (erasure of the hard drive and deletion of some 30,000 emails by Secretary Clinton) after a government investigation had commenced (Benghazi hearings began Oct. 10, 2012).

Comey knows of a related but lesser law violation in handling classified material by General David Petraeus that was recently adjudicated. Petraeus was fined $100,000 and sentenced to two years' probation for providing his personal notebooks containing classified information to his biographer, although no classified information was ever exposed. Hillary Clinton's email server containing more voluminous classified and Top Secret information was reportedly breached and exposed by notorious Romanian hacker "Guccifer" and by the Russians (who have 20,000 Clinton server emails in their possession). So Comey can't easily give Secretary Clinton a pass and at the same time be true to his oath of office.

The country is now at the edge of an abyss from years of obfuscation, unaccountability, subterfuge and law evasion by the Obama administration that have numbed much of its citizenry into an acceptance of government corruption and abuse of power.

The fact that the Justice Department didn’t object to several key witnesses using the same attorney (http://politi.co/1Rto6yR) is suggestive either that those involved have no fear of culpability, that Justice isn’t playing hardball, or some combination thereof.

That the President has scheduled campaign trips on Air Force One for Clinton is a clear sign that an Indictment is not forthcoming or that the issue will be reduced to misdemeanor charges that can be swept under the rug. I’m betting the former.

If the Republicans had any guts, they would retroactively impeach Clinton from her Secretary of State job, convict her in the Senate, and disqualify her from “again holding an office of public trust.” Some Democrats might actually go along with that plan, at this point.

I think that’s been shown to be a different Loretta Lynch.

"What Difference, At This Point, Does It Make?"

To quote the Felonious PIAPS. :)

It was Loretta Lynch, was it not? Do you think the Discredited Media would be seeking to enlighten the booger-picking low information peasants if this was a Donald Trump minion? Not hardly.

The smear would be going 24/7.

And she also knows full well that the second that they consider her a threat, that they will kill her quickly, ruthlessly, and without hesitation.

People would be AMAZED to learn that Loretta Lynch had taken up weight lifting...

Note the past tense... :)

Hillary's nightmare keeps coming and coming. She’z got too much baggage and I believe the Democrats know it. The tarmac meeting between Billy Boy and black militant Atty. General was nothing less/more than panic by the Clintons.

They've finally stepped in it...waist deep. All career criminals get complacent, cocky when they go untouched for decades...then, they make the big mistake. I truly believe this is where the Clintons find themselves.

Obstruction of an investigation, pay to play at State, perjury, mishandling sensitive info, multiple counts of destruction of evidence, multiple counts of conspiracy, possible money laundering..a few others I haven't thought of.

There is just too much for the FBI/DOJ to sweep under the rug. Clinton's IT guy turn over on her under an immunity agreement with the FBI. Huma delicately distance herself from Clinton in her testimony. Cheryl Mills pled the fifth hundreds of times. It's slow, it's painful, but there are too many career DOJ/FBI folks that have no ties to the Clintons and will not willingly lay down under that bus to protect them. The truth is oozing out ever so slowly, but it keeps coming with new revelations seems daily.

“So Comey can’t easily give Secretary Clinton a pass and at the same time be true to his oath of office.”

Watch him. He will hide behind “no malice aforethought” even though she clearly set up the system to avoid transparency laws. Her defense is “she isn’t a computer expert” but she doesn’t need to be. The State Dept could have created the email system for her but she purposefully avoided that.

Well stated. But why didn’t Huma take the 5th?

I agree. Either she totally skates or she pays a token fine a’la Sandy Berger. Comey was Deputy Attorney General in the Berger case. He talked a big game about how seriously the government took national security and the handling of classified documents, but in the end Berger got a slap on the wrist.

Hillary is innocent. She didn’t understand the disk wipe cloths would erase all that data. She thought she was just dusting them...

>>But why didn’t Huma take the 5th?<<

Huma seems always to be in the background, unassuming and bright. She is married to Anthony Wiener and she circulates through...the made crowd. She’z still young, aspiring.

My point...I believe Huma is very politically savvy. She likely has many valuable contacts and associations. Huma gently distanced herself from the criminality. Pleading the 5th would have drawn her smack dab in the middle of all this.

Hillary is up in age, likely will not win the presidency due to a few factors...one being huge amounts of baggage, the other health concerns, and last but not least...Bill.

Huma will move on from all this unscathed and will have a blooming career within the inner circles of D.C.. Hillary...yea, a good gig but when Hillary is sitting jail or later sitting in a retirement community...Huma will be a powerful consultant.

She’z pretty, connected and intelligent.

-- Loretta Lynch was a lawyer on the Clinton defense team during the 1992 Whitewater corruption investigation. --

Yeah, but not the same Loretta Lynch as is currently head of the DOJ.

She’s also tied into the MB, but these days that’s a plus.

Good analysis. Thanks.

......the Clintons have a file on Loretta Lynch and her family!!....

I hear Hillary has done the unthinkable......she squealed to Michelle that
when Loretta met Bill on the tarmac, she wore hideous bargain basement
clothes that don't fit...and even stuffed her size 11 feet into ugly 50's era
size 8 shoes.

They have the same name.

That would be good enough for Dana Milbank and the rest of the Discredited Media. :)

**The smear would be going 24/7.**

Yes, it would be, but I try to be truthful about things anyway, otherwise, I’m no better than the Clintons.
