Utah’s declaration of pornography as a public health crisis has created a backlash from sexually explicit publications, earning Republican Gov. Gary Herbert a mention on the latest cover of Penthouse magazine, which also sent copies of the issue to him and leaders in the Utah-based Mormon church.

The cover of the magazine’s issue for July and August features an image of a model against an American flag along with a sardonic headline teasing the cover story about Utah’s pornography resolution, passed earlier this year.

The magazine’s editor, Raphie Aronowitz, admits the move was aimed to agitate. …

Not to worry, Herbert will fold like a cheap suit and offer to make up for the Penthouse hurt feelings by having subscriptions required for all sixth grade classes.

One think I remember was Ted Bundy saying he had been addicted to pornography. I think it does degrade a person’s mind.

To some, online pornography is just so much social media.

Anything to escape individual responsibility. Bundy's last-minute attempt to deflect from his own evil, by blaming "porn", was laughable.

Blame the gun. Blame the video game. Blame the alcohol. Blame the drug. Blame the porn. Blame Donald Trump.

I have an idea: when an individual does evil, how about we blame the individual who chooses to do the evil, instead of ascribing their actions to some external factor?

Placing blame on external influences is a classically totalitarian, nanny-state impulse. Under such a paradigm, a powerful State apparatus must necessarily (and increasingly) step in to save people from themselves.

How? By curtailing Freedom, of course, and imposing Tyrannical Law.

You’re right; frankly, inclinations like Bundy’s were already there. Porn is just a scapegoat and a tool. Not a reason.

>...public health crisis

Not gay-sex (nor gay blood donation [as been in the news]), not the illegal hoards (bringing disease/etc.), not rampant crime (and the suppression of 2nd A. Rights), not any other number of TRUE ‘health crises’

...only liberals\govt can find a non-appropriate\non-solution to an issue of their own making.
