Extreme and gruesome violence has turned a city once beloved by holidaymakers from around the world into a war zone. Acapulco, on Mexico's Pacific Coast, has been gripped by such bloody chaos in recent years that it has been dubbed one of the most dangerous cities in the world. Shocking new photographs captured in little more than two months on the streets show just have horrifying life there has become, with death seemingly able to strike anywhere in the city.

Changed quite a bit from the time it was a port of call for the Love Boat. Sometimes I watch a show about drugs and the drug trade on Nat Geo or a similar channel. There was a show about the trade in Cancun. The cartels have an agreement to keep the violence outside the town to avoid scaring the tourists. I guess for whatever reason no such pact has been made in Acapulco.

What a waste.
Yes it was a fantastic port of call for cruise ships. In the 70's ships would anchor in the harbor and the view of Acapulco at night was amazing. Great discos (Yes!) with cheap booze. Cliff divers and lots of great beach hotels - good fun.
That is all WAY in the past.

This perfectly illustrates why there is no such thing as ‘non-violent’ drug crimes...

Americans who travel to Mexico for vacation should seriously have their heads examined.

Interesting how our MSMLSD media didn’t consider it newsworthy. You have to go to media outside the US to learn what’s going on.

Cancun is apparently taking the attitude that its income depends on tourism and that crime will not be tolerated, but I can’t say how long this attitude will last.

Man, some pretty gruesome photos down the page. I was there 33 years ago and it was enjoyable, but it had some obvious problems. We always felt safe, but we were selective about where we went. A week or so after we left, I read that some communist guerilla organization had closed roads into the city.

Excellent point! Bears repeating!
The people in the drug business are violent, and will kill those who get in their way.

Next week, bodyless heads found

Acapulco probably hasn’t seen this much violence since 1624, when it was sacked by Dutch raiders during the 80 Years’ War.

Very few safe vacation spots outside of the USA. With Obozo and Hitlery’s scheme to lard up America with Muslims and allowing illegal Mexican migrants to stay here forever we’ll be seeing scenes like these every day!
