You would not find too many people this side of Stephen A. Smith who would disagree with Aikman’s assessment, but the Hall of Famer’s beef with Bayless is personal. The shock jock’s first push to fame came as a columnist in Dallas when he wrote a book on the 1990s Cowboys, in which he made an unsubstantiated suggestion that Aikman is gay.
“I’m upset about it because it was made up and there was nothing accurate about anything that was insinuated,” Aikman told SI last year. “And he did it, as he does everything, just for attention.”
Bayless’ new show, “Undisputed,” debuted Tuesday, though any details of the premiere now will be completely overshadowed by the network’s top football analyst destroying its new star.

I have always thought Aikman is/was gay. If he is not, that will be the news story, IMHO.

I completely agree with Aikman here. Bayless is a first class creep. But, I feel that way about most sports ‘journalists’.

Why do you think that? Do you have inside information? Whether one thinks that or not, it should not have been passed off as "news" by a sportswriter.

That was the allegation when he was editor of the Vanderbilt student news rag, The Hustler, in the mid-70’s.
This is way better. Ol Skippy went around tweeting about being a high school star, played like Pistol Pete and named MVP of summer camp with future NBA players. Turns out, he averaged 1.4 PPG and after getting humiliated on air, claimed that the coach never let him play because he was white.

It was fairly common gossip in sports circles years ago. I’d pretty much assumed he was myself, but he’s never been in anybody’s face about it if so.
