The Green Bay Packers and head coach Mike McCarthy are giving back to the Green Bay Police Foundation.
On Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Packers and McCarthy announced they will each donate $100,000 to the organization.
Per ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky, McCarthy explained the purpose of his donation is to "be part of the solution to make our community better."
Packers president Mark Murphy issued a statement about the team matching McCarthy's donation:

Sounds like some Packers will be taking a seat on 9/11 and this is a preemptive maneuver
Well I’d rather hear news like this than players taking a knee or not pledging allegiance during the national anthem. The Seahawks, 49’ers, and Broncos have all tarnished the NFL’s image because they have Muslim players that want attention and are implying that they think terrorists should have the right to kill American people. All liberal states that they’re based out of I might add too. Maybe too many drugs running through their player’s veins. They might want to check that and have them re-tested weekly for awhile.
There is always a chance you are right, but I'm interested to know what insight you have that leads to your assertion.
Sports is entertainment, not politics. The NFL should have a political clause that players are not allowed to participate in politics while in uniform or on the field. The damage to the business is potentially too high. These guys are in the 1%. The fact that some of them are claiming victim hood is outrageous. I expect the teams to take a financial hit when they do.
Well that will sure help them get more militarized equipment to use on patriots at some future date.
Utter horse...feathers.
“they **will** each donate $100,000 to the organization. “
Call me when it’s “they **have** donated 100K to...”
talk is cheap - pics or it didn’t happen
I totally agree. Those who are claiming victim hood, along with numerous other players who do not make such claims, have been pampered, cottled, given special opportunities and praised to think they are exceptional human beings. IMO, they are highly overpaid egotists who ad absolutely zero to the gross national product. They are entertainers hiding in an athletic uniform and are employees of an organization selling their entertainment. If they worked for my company, they would express their unpatriotic concerns on their own time, not mine or my companies. Now that you see where I stand on this issue, flame away, I have a delete key.
Bullshit.
