Casino operators know theres no gambler quite like the Chinese.
With their affinity for baccarat, the most lucrative game in Las Vegas, Chinese gamblers have long commanded special treatment be it with private Chinese gaming salons, Lunar New Year festivities or performances from pop stars flown in from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
No one in Las Vegas, however, has built a casino and hotel strictly for Chinese visitors until now.
The Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino is billing itself as Las Vegas first Asian-themed resort, funded in large part by Chinese investors. The property, set to open Dec. 3 with a traditional lion dance, will offer bilingual staff and signage, a luxury tea bar and a host of restaurants with food that wouldnt look or taste out of place in Guangzhou or Shanghai.

We had an Asian-themed casino in Biloxi, the Lady Luck back in the early days. It had a large fire-breathing dragon feature.
It will be known as the rudest place on the strip
The casinos let bac players track the table history on paper sheets. The casinos know it won’t give the players any advantage at all.
Couple of years ago we went to an Indian casino in California. The roulette table was crowded with Asians and the betting table was completely covered in chips—hundreds of them for each spin of the wheel. Never saw anything like it.

And, I’ll bet the buffet is to die for.
For some reason the Asian go for games of pure luck. They seem to not go for blackjack and roulette.
It’s a small casino a quarter mile off the strip. I doubt the investors are trying to attract the typical fun-seeking Vegas tourist. They are going after chinese locals and tourists instead.
I was at a Chinese buffet once, and the shrimp kept crawling away.
I was in Vegas recently and was astonished by the lack of Asians at the tables and on the strip. It was mostly millenials and Europeans.
When I go to an Oklahoman casino it is about 33% Asian.

Say what? I was there last week, and there were Asians aplenty.
Of course, I played Pai Gow the entire time. So I guess that’s not too surprising.
