You should have requested an absentee ballot. The hospital is under NO obligation to get you to the polls
No lefit lawyer will take this case
“The hospital is under NO obligation to get you to the polls”
No, but it is illegal for them to hold someone prisoner who has expressed their desire to leave, except in a few very narrow circumstances.
They of course routinely try to make patients believe that they can do that, and don’t like to admit willingly that they cannot stop patients from leaving. I have found you have to be very assertive with hospital staff when you demand to discharge yourself. Usually simply asking “do I need to call my lawyer?” will get their butts moving on the paperwork though.
again I SAY-—”if” I HAD known before I CAME in—naturally-—BUT A “ballot” HAS TO BE REQUEST at least 7 days before AN ELECTION!
annnd if YOU WERE READING—”I” DID not “ASK” ANYONE TO take me TO THE POLLS—I WANTED TOTAKE A cab myself!!
