To me it is only right for us to support a freely elected government that is friendly to us.
2. We sell weapons to Taiwan.
3. Both China and Taiwan sent congratulations to Trump on November 9th.
I went to the link (and gave the Slimes a hit). It is ironic that they are upset about Trump recognizing Taiwan, even though it has a democratically elected government, and are fearful of alienating China, a totalitarian government known for its long history of human rights violations. Then in the immediate next section the Slimes bemoans Trump’s potential willingness to meet with President Rodrigo Duarte of the Phillipines, a leader, as they put it, who “has been accused of gross human rights abuses.”
The ‘net has routed around The Slimes. Their time is OVER.
I don’t think the slimes have the slightest idea how irrelevant they have been, how increasingly irrelevant they currently are, and how totally irrelevant they are about to become.
Of course doing ANYTHING upsets decades of diplomacy - the whole State Department apparatus - a vast Washington DC bureaucratic conspiracy - that has grown up since WWII to "manage" our diplomatic relations with foreign countries.
In large measure our embassies and consulates are irrelevant to anything much, and Trump picking up the phone and calling leaders upsets that old rickety useless applecart.
In 2008, after Barack Obama won, a number of Democrats were calling for George W. Bush to step down immediately and not wait for the inauguration so Obama could get to work right away. Maybe Obama should step down now and get out of Donald Trump’s way.
They had their figurative hands behind their backs, and their fingers crossed when they made that lying, mendacious, disingenuous faux pledge. It was a lie from the get-go.
Your change of the headline is very funning and exactly on the nose.
She called him, buttwipe.
