This may sound stupid, but there is a trick that involves covering your ears and tapping the back of your head (you can use your favorite search engine to find on the internet). It may have to be periodically repeated, especially at first, but as someone who has been plagued with tinnitus since my 20’s, it worked for me as a permanent fix— it is now so minor I don’t even notice it; and on those now very rare occasions when it does act up I just do the trick.

OK, now you managed to have 10,000 people banging the back of their head?

The following method may reduce the ringing in your ears, suggests Dr. Jan Strydom, of A2Z of Health, Beauty and Fintess.org. Place the palms of your hands over your ears with fingers resting gently on the back of your head. Your middle fingers should point toward one another just above the base of your skull. Place your index fingers on top of you middle fingers and snap them (the index fingers) onto the skull making a loud, drumming noise. Repeat 40-50 times. Some people experience immediate relief with this method. Repeat several times a day for as long as necessary to reduce tinnitus. From Here

It just worked for me. The hissing sound went away. Maybe still there slightly but definitely diminished. Thanks

I remember when this was on FR a few years ago. Did it actually work for you? I tried it but not 50 times.

They are Chinese tapping techniques that stimulate harmonic flow to strengthen weakened organs. It does give results and must be performed consistently for 3 weeks to notice improvement.

I’ll have to try that.
I don’t have tinnitus, but I do have a raging case of hyperacusis. I’ll try anything at this point.
