The casino is right off the Beltway on the MD side of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge over then Potomac. I did some research and disappointed there is no buffet.

They used to have them in Fire Station’s over there back in the 90’s that were run by so-called charities. They didn’t have slot machines but they did have roulette & blackjack tables. So they have had gambling over there for 20+ years now.

It opens today at 11PM..yes, 11PM..I don’t have a clue as to why it is so late. With the close proximity to DC and located in PG county, I wonder whether crime is going to be an issue. Also, I don’t care how well they planned, traffic is going to be a nightmare.

Yes, the 11 pm opening puzzles me as well. Perhaps they just want to make sure the opening is well after rush hour. Or it will be convenient for the all night gamblers who can put in a full night gambling and drinking and then drive home as drunken losers during the morning rush hour.

DC is the obvious place for hardcore gamblers.

So its just inside Maryland, it sounds like. I noted that its in Prince Georges County, which to those familiar with the Washington DC area, is a county known for its bad neighborhoods.

I read they plan to have a lot of rent-a-cops to direct traffic.

Good. And I’ll find out the traffic effects for real tomorrow evening.
