It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Saudis would have surrogates and dupes on the internet when they own a bunch of US Senators.

I believe in spanking and have zero angst over it to be candid

It’s raising boys in my culture

That would be the southern one but granted I’m an older parent

A boomer not an Xer or millennial

It’s also why alpha boys like mine need dads not moms going it alone

You shouldn’t beat your kids

I don’t spank anymore

They are all too old and my baby at 9 with me almost 60 has never needed it

He hates absolutely my disapproval ...spanking him would be cruel...I think I did once or twice lightly when he was 4 maybe

Now my oldest beat his two years younger brother up a few years ago

He was maybe 12 and the younger...my middle boy was 10....his mom and I were out downstairs at the W in Miami and came in and I knew right away

He outweighed him by 60-70 pounds ....I pulled my then 6 year old youngest aside and he told me that blank hit blank in the face over and over and judging from the knots he was t lying

I spanked him good him with a belt him thrashing about carrying on.....like a banshee but I wasn’t gonna stand for him pummeling his nearly defenseless little bro.....btw....they are an even match now...and don’t fight

That was the last and only time I had any guilt.....I felt cause I humiliated him but I felt i had to protect the smaller one

Mom sure couldn’t....not all 100 pounds of her

If you don’t get ahold of boys you can have lord of the flies quick...granted though some boys are really mild and easy....some are not

I never saw much need for spanking daughters.....maybe as toddlers a mild swat to warn of dangerous behavior......daughters of course often become a nightmare at mid teens but are way too old for spanking then

When children are little, and about to something dangerous, you can make a memorable point with a light slap on the butt.

I don’t like hitting children with kitchen utensils or belts. Way past the line.

Exactly! When they reach a level of inteullectual maturity, there should be no spanking at all.

Even before, it should be used sparingly.

I never, however, spanked my two children.

Should there be NO laws about how people treat their children?

I don’t think religeon has anything to do with it in France.

BBC NEWS | Europe | The deep roots of French secularism

Sep 1, 2004 - The deep roots of French secularism. France is not the only Western country to insist on the separation of church and state - but it does so more militantly than any other. Secularism is the closest thing the French have to a state religion.

Pffft.
We have a generation of kids now to show that this is bunk - I've seen enough to know this is true.

I'll bet very few of the current crop of college snowflakes ever got their butts warmed over their misbehavior.

I could not help but have waves of ‘I’m just like my father,’ even though it was such a minor incident in comparison. Thankfully, I only stared into the abyss and didn’t fall in it.

You DO realize, I hope, that your assertion is simply pulled out of your ass.

The actual DATA show that spanking lowers IQ,and causes rebellion and criminality.

Actions have consequences.

All actions have consequences.

Some consequences are more disagreeable than a “Timeout”, restricted TV or Smartphone time.

Neglecting to teach your children this basic fact is terrible child abuse.

Bottom line - Justice, Jurisprudence and Punishment, whether in the family or in the larger society, MUST be guided by Biblical principles.

Proverbs 13:24 ESV

Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

Hebrews 12:11 ESV

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Proverbs 23:13-15 ESV

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol. My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad.

Is that like the global warming data? Tapping a diapered butt lowers IQ? That sounds a bit goofy.

"Data" can be made to show anything you like.

Anthropomorphic global warming, for instance.

Don’t be ridiculous. That would be an attack on religion and a peaceful one at that.
