I used that Verizon service in the past and found it works well. I had a seasonal business located 35 miles from the house and with the type of service I had from Verizon, it worked well. I dropped it after I sold the business (and the phone number that went with it). If I still owned the business I would have retained the service.

And, yes, when I had this service it was about $20 per month.

It was called VERIZON home connect it is unlimited local and long distance calls for $20 a month. It comes to about $25 with taxes. If you have a security system you will have the security co, add an air/cell back up for it to call out properly. Cost varies for that card from $100-$200 and is a one time cost. You will also not be able to fax. Otherwise for $25 a month you have phone service.
