We have become stewards of the planet and all life on it... let's not mess it up

Over the past few hundred years we, the human race, have experienced an unparalleled explosion of knowledge. Although our advances due to swarm intelligence have been growing since the beginning of life on the planet, during the recent past knowledge of the natural world has increased exponentially.

The start of this rapid increase in the growth of knowledge can traced to the Scientific Revolution. It was the spark which ignited a complete redefinition of the natural world and how we interacted with it; the ignition of a never-ending search for reality and truth.

It was a paradigm shift in the truest sense; where the old way of viewing the world gave way to a new method of thinking, where only provable, testable, and replicable facts mattered. This new approach to thinking has transformed the world.

More than that it has transformed the human race to a position no other life has ever held. We have become stewards of all life on the planet.

Hello Freepers! Asking again for your thoughts and input. I've again put the link to my blog so I can better track activity but if this offends you, please visit the original at http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2017/04/stewards_of_the_planet.html

As always I like to hear what the Freepers think. And no, none of this in any way says anything about God. I think facts and science point one to God but that's a post for another day ;-)

Stewards, yes. But this easily becomes a pretext for totalitarian conceits. Such as “global warming” as a pretext for complete control of the economy.

The planet pretty much does it’s own thing. We’re just along for the ride.

Nothing wrong with being stewards of the planet and all life on it at all.

Do not involve democrats or the US government in it.

In fact, it would be wise to exclude them from anything that you care about.

Yep, we can focus on what we can control, like litter.

Sure, everyone knows we can mess it up on a micro scale, all it takes is one factory dumping crap into a stream, or what happened before we started using technology to control vehicle emissions. We should do those things and human nature being what it is, it’s going to take a few laws and regulations to keep people in line. So it has always been since humans decided that the benefits of living in a society outnumbered the costs of having to put up with some form of government.

The problem is the liberals took that basic tenet and jacked it up on steriods, extrapolating beyond what was factually supported and making up “data” to support their politically and economically-motivated biases. Someone plotted the amount of money plowed-into “climate research” and guess what, it tracked almost perfectly with the propaganda put out by the left.

Speaking of trashing the planet, did ya ever notice the past generation or two who’ve all been taught by leftist/socialist in public schools, just throw their trash everywhere? These little screw worms leave a trail a trash everywhere they go. Just look at the schools, they generally have a lines of trash to and from these bloated wasteful institutions.

Stewards, yes.
But when the creation becomes worshipped more than the creator, you have a problem.
And the Warmunists worship the earth as if it is a god.
They also insist that humanity needs ot have the herd thinned through population control i.e. murdering people to save mother gaia.
Environmentalism has become an excuse to prevent development, energy production, food production, basically any activity that benefits humanity or produces products of any kind.
It is nihilism on parade under the flowery guise of “caring about the planet”.

Stewardship implies use and cultivation, two things the environmentalists HATE.
They want nothing used, cultivated, or touched.

I used to be an environmentalist.

Individual freedom and limited government are our only hope. Left unconstrained, big government is certain to be our demise sooner or later

Recent protests at the Dakota Access Pipeline left behind mountains of waste.

I know the irony is lost on liberals. But, these protesters who allegedly are so concerned about pipelines despoiling mother earth, left behind a huge environmental blight, which of course the entitled liberal protesters just assumed that someone else would clean up.
