With Gorsuch’s Vote, Supreme Court Allows Arkansas to Execute Ledell Lee
Slate ^ | April 21, 2017 | Mark Joseph Stern

On Thursday night, Arkansas executed Ledell Lee—the state’s first execution in 12 years. Lee is one of eight men whom Arkansas originally planned to kill over 11 days before one drug in the three-drug lethal injection cocktail expires. Four of these men have received stays of execution, but Lee’s final plea to the U.S. Supreme Court was rejected by a 5–4 vote. Justice Neil Gorsuch cast the deciding vote allowing Lee to die. It was his first vote cast as a justice of the court.

Well, what do you know? Death row occupants present and future might get a little nervous over this.

Because it was a constitutional question.

“Justice Neil Gorsuch cast the deciding vote allowing Lee to die.”

That wrapped up Ledell’s free room and board.

They should have done a press release that Lee was going to release the Clinton Foundation secret financial records. He would have committed suicide shortly thereafter.

Thou shalt not suffer a murderer to live.— the Law dictated by God,Himself. When human law is made contrary to the laws dictated by God,Himself —it is the human laws that are ill made -and human laws that must change.

What would Merrick Garland do?

Sub the procedure out to the local dog pound — they’re already set up for it.

Sounds cheap and effective. Then wait for the medical gas companies to be vilified and quit selling it. Why is it so much work to execute these heinous people?

Tie decisions mean the lower court’s decision holds.

It means no executions would have occurred.

How did Sotomayor, Kagan and Ginsburg vote?

Just kidding. They are unthinking hacks.

Lots of problems with firing squad and/or hanging. Most have to do with lawyers. Firing squad requires dealing with the cleanup and possibly contaminated (HIV) blood. Hanging gets into ripping heads off of fat people and not enough drop for slight people ... etc.

With the Nitrogen Asphyxiation, they go to sleep. Nothing for a lawyer to try and hang his hat on. No cruel and unusual, no blood, no “excessive” pain, always works, no drugs to expire, run out of , or manufacture to withdraw.

These same 4 justices who feel the death penalty might kill an innocent person feel no shame in allowing abortion which always kills an innocent.

There are 4 communist scumbag animals on the “Supreme “ court that want to let criminals get away with murder.

Something ought to be done about them.

... Arkansas originally planned to kill over 11 days before one drug in the three-drug lethal injection cocktail expires.

Three-drug lethal injection? It takes three drugs to do the job? Why? Morphine would get the job done with just one drug. And morphine is cheap and plentiful.

Feels really good to get some justice in this world for a change.

For so many years the middle class average working person has been the enemy.

While the free loading, lazy, criminal, Godless would be free to continue taking from others, and never having to suffer consequences.

About time.

Fast, peaceful, uses a readily-available basic element, and certain. Also no mess like electrocution, firing squad or hanging. No need to worry about trapped cyanide gas or having to vent it out as is the case with the gas chamber. Sounds like an ideal method. I’m still very much on the fence about the issue but until states choose to abolish the death penalty on their own, it would be a very humane means of carrying it out.
