Because Comey is keeping the Russia investigation going as cover and it will look bad firing Comey. But what’s really happened here is Comey and the whole Obama team are caught spying on their American political opponents.

don’t know why- this ‘keep your enemies close’ argument that some give doesn’t hold any water- I don’t know who can replace him- but I’m sure there are some men or women of integrity who would be way better than the liberal comey who has proven he is a political lackey
Trump could use this along with Obama’s spying on everybody to destroy him, but he won’t. My guess is, he will help cover it up, wouldn’t want to cause trouble.

Well honestly. He is the president. He can ask for a resignation. Or can he not ask for an underlings resignation.

Given him letting her walk after all the stuff he named off that she did, i’d say he criteria for firing has been met.
