The recently departed Bill O'Reilly would often call his TV show the "no spin zone."... Even the biggest crooks in the world always have a narrative going on in their heads to excuse what they are doing as being perfectly OK.
As an extreme example of this phenomenon, consider the lead headline in yesterday's New York Times: "Russia-Trump Tie Was Big Concern Of Ex-C.I.A. Chief."....
Nice try. Here's my alternative headline for the article: "Ex C.I.A. Chief Brennan Offers Preposterous 'Russia' Cover Story To Excuse Blatantly Illegal Government Spying On Trump Campaign." My alternative headline is just the other "spin."
The gist of the article is that Brennan supposedly initiated use of CIA and FBI resources to snoop on the Trump campaign because of what he says was "concern" about contacts between that campaign and Russia.........
Let me start with this: The citizens of the United States have given truly awesome powers to federal government law enforcement and intelligence agencies for one and only one reason, which is to keep the people safe. For that purpose, and that purpose alone, we have acquiesced in the creation of the CIA, the NSA and the FBI, with their enormous and frightening investigatory and surveillance powers. The single biggest corruption in which these agencies can engage is the use of their powers to interfere in the election process, and thus to disadvantage one side of the political divide in favor of the other. The use of the investigative and surveillance powers of the CIA/NSA/FBI by government officials as a weapon against political adversaries is a far, far, far worse corruption than, say, merely taking a bribe, no matter how large; and is a far, far, far worse corruption that merely embezzling millions, or even billions, of dollars from the government's coffers.

The three letter agency heads act as if they used to work for Pravda.
That's not a headline, it's an editorial.
Trump needs to fire all of the top players in the CIA and FBI....Not just Comey.
He then needs to fire Jeff Sessions, who has proven himself as worthless as teats on a bull.
Then he needs to replace all of these worthless scumbags with people who have the desire to see justice done.
But...he won’t. As a result, he will be hounded on all sides until he falls into a perjury trap.....and then he will be impeached, with the approval of a smug Ryan and McConnel.
Sad.
At which point, there will be war. All those in DC gotta sleep sometime.
Agree with your first part (he will be hounded on all sides). But I don't see Trump himself falling into a perjury trap. I believe that to be charged with perjury, you have to have told a material lie, under oath. Just don't see Trump being put in that situation ... while he's president, he has executive privilege and I don't think he can be compelled to testify.
His aides however (or former aides such as Flynn) do need to worry about the perjury trap.
The NSA/CIA/FBI and State are in a full treason mode. Their efforts are designed to advance globalist agenda that most Americans are not on board for.
This is why so much secrecy these days.
As for colluding with Russia, I remember a Obama doing that ON full VIDEO/AUDIO. Making a deal with the Russians he was hiding from the voters.
Trump needs to fire all of the top players in the CIA and FBI....Not just Comey.
The entire security state needs to be burned to the ground and reformulated. It is out of control.
I like sessions. But he’s allowing them to browbeat him. I think he’ll make a good AG.
Isn’t Brennan a muslim? Isn’t it a sacred duty for Brennan to lie to the infidels?
